Opioids Oxycodone dosage

Im getting this info for my cousin. He has a fairly high opiate tolerance I guess, although I thought it wasnt that high. He has been smoking raw opium for a couple of months, and doing 40mg of methadone now and then.

What "mg" do you reccomend? he wants to nod hard. Also, I have little to no opiate tolerance what dose would be good for me? I also want to nod.
 
For an opioid naive user with no tolerance, no more than 10mg oxycodone. 5-10 is typical.

For your methadone laden friend, start with 20-40mg and see how that works. Do remember that opioids will add to each others effects, so recuce this value if your friend is still high from the methadone.

Oxycodone is considered to be a relatively strong opioid, but it is not as strong or long-lasting as methadone.
 
Oh no, I dont mean combined with methadone. He doesnt want to combine the oxycodone. But what I meant is that his been smoking ALOT of raw opium in the past months and as recently been taking 40mg methadone on some days to get high. He prefers it to opium. So basically I just meant he has a tolerance I think, what would be an appropriate dose? 20-40mg? (not combined with methadone).

For me I guess 10mg lol
 
It's hard to tell what his tolerance would be. Opium is not standardised (anymore).

Oxycodone and methadone are roughly equipotent in individuals who have a tolerance. (Methadone is more potent in naive users than oxycodone is) Anywhere from 20-60mg would likely be good for your friend. It's hard to tell though.

Luckily, oxycodone is easier to redose with than methadone - peak plasma levels are attained in roughly an hour after you eat oxycodone.

If you are particularly lightweight and have never done opioids, 10mg may make you feel strange and dizzy. I suggest startiung with 5mg if at all possible. If you are on the heavier side, 10mg is probably great.
 
Is snorting better than oral? duration is not that important. We prefer to get a fast rush and a big peak. Thanks for your help by the way!
 
Snorting has a lower absorption rate than oral, though it kicks in faster. Honestly though, even when injected, oxy has no rush, so I'd wait the extra fifteen minutes and eat them.

IMHO, snorting oxycodone would be a waste. It kicks in pretty quickly orally, and not much "rush" to speak of that would cause snorting to be worth it.
 
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and close this. The question was answered as clearly as it can be. No one can say for sure what dose will get your cousin high safely. Chances are that if he takes 40mg of Methadone to get stoned, 40mg of oxy should not be too high of a dosage. BL is a harm reduction board, the best advice is to start off slow, and titrate your dose up. It's really hard to give an accurate equivilance to a drug like opium as well..
