Opioids Oxycodone and Mirtazapine

I'm not prescribed Remeron, but I take it every night regardless purely for its sleep-inducing effects (I suffer from insomnia). My question is this: If I take 60mg of mirtazapine the night before taking 40mg oxycodone will it in any way negate or lessen the euphoric effects of the oxy?

If it does, I'll just skip the mirtazapine on that night.

Taking some the night before will have no effect. Taking some on the night or at the same time may cause unwanted repository depression and will most likely greatly increase the effects of the oxy. Makes for a good nod but only works when you dont have much tolerance to Mirtaz.

I have been on it and mixed lots of different drugs with Mirtaz, there isn't much info out there on combinations with it so PM me if you ever have another Q and I'll see if I can help.

Mirtazapine disinhibits dopamine release through antagonism of 5HT2c receptors. Opiates disinhibits dopamine release by lowering gaba inhibition. Mirtazapine should therefore increase opiate euphoria. I've definitely found that to be the case. Remeron is also an antihistamine which are well known opiate potentiators and also decrease the negative side effects of opoid induced histamine release. Take them both together.
