Oxy Withdrawl or not?

Hi Everyone,

I started taking Oxycontin about 4-5 weeks ago I was doing only about 20mg 3 times a week for the first few weeks then it went up to 40mg 3-4 times a week then in the last 2 weeks about 60mg sometimes just 40mg per day only 2 times I went to 80mg during the 2 weeks. I don't easily get addicted to things, I used to do 240mg of Codeine a day but I could stop and not feel any effects.

This past week on Wednesday I took my last dose of 80mg at about 8:30pm. I have lots of Oxy left but I wanted to let it go for a day without using any then I would do some more on the weekend. I could do this a lot with Codeine. Come about 1:00am the next day so about 29 hours after my last dose I tried to go to sleep. I however could not, I felt weird and I was tossing and turning I can't explain the feeling but I have never had that much trouble sleeping. So I took 1mg Xanax to try to help me sleep, that seemed like it made it worse. I needed to go to work early the next day and really needed some sleep and I know it's not good to mix Xanax and OC.

After a hour of taking the Xanax I could not help it anymore I had to take 20mg of Oxy, I was very scared I would stop breathing in my sleep because of this but I really needed to get to bed and it was now 3:00am. Not sure what time I actually got to bed but I did fall asleep.

So my question is. Was I going through withdrawals? Like I said I could stop and have the will power but that one night it seemed weird. I am not a heavy user of Oxy and have not been using it for that long. Does anyone else have anything similar to this or is my body addicted to Oxy because I know my head is not. Thanks in advance

sounds like really really mild withdrawl. usually if you need to ask if your in wd, you probably are. best bet is to stop now, if you think this is bad you cant imagine what ive seen people go through.

I agree with Dyno, from what you've said, it does look like you're going through withdrawal. If you have to ask, 99% of the time you are. Opiate addiction and therefore opiate withdrawal symptoms creep up on you, so, my advice echoes DynoSpec's, stop using now or taper down your dose if just stopping cold turkey is too uncomfortable for you.

No I rarely use the Xanax. I have about 30 1mg tabs laying around but since I got the Oxy I don't use them at all anymore. I just used it that one night to try to get to bed when I did not take the Oxy that day. I rarely use benzos at all now just Opiates.

the xanax will be good to help you quit the oxy if thats your plan. will ease wd alot

Rio: I don't treat this like Codeine, I just said that with Codeine I was able to take even 7 days off at one time for a vacation without any side effects after using 180-240mg a day for months, I would never take the doses I took with Oxy as I did Codeine, but it seems like my body craves the Oxy more than my codeine that's all I was saying.

I also have some 2mg bupes as well. But I am not sure how long after a dose of Oxy that I could start using the Bupes. Anyone know a safe time to start after my last dose?

do not start taking bupe for a minor oxy wd. thats a shitty shitty idea. just try to deal with the wd with some xanax and loperamide. the worst is almost over if you still havnt used

Dyno: Are the Bupes better for me than to keep taking the Oxy? I have about 85 Oxycontin 40's left. I have never tried the Bupes but is the feeling the same or is it much different? Thanks for your responces

no man, the bupe will be way way harder to stop than the oxy. it wont get you high either, just make you not go into wd. i recommend stashing those oxys somewhere you cant get em for a while until you clear the wd you have right now up. the wd only get more intense and the high less satisfying

DO NOT TAKE THE BUPE!!!

What you are going through is 1,000,000X easier than the WD most of us have been through.

I wish I had been smart enough to just suffer through that first withdrawl from OXY. It is soooo easy compared to what I got myself into.

If you don't quit taking pills now this will be the point when your life begins to turn to shit.

Trust me on that.....I have been an addict for over 10 years. It gets A LOT WORSE!!!!

Please find a way to keep yourself from taking any more opiates for at least the next couple of weeks.......If you want to go back at that point NEVER take them for more than 2-3 days at a time, EVER!

Lord I wish I could go back to where you are now.........It would be like going to heaven
