Oxy withdrawals... Again

So this is not my first time here, reading posts to pass time while suffering through oxy withdrawal. I am currently on day one with no oxy. Not because I don't want it. But because I moved to a new city and don't have a source. Also my bf wants to quit because he starts school in 10 days. So I am supporting his efforts. I have been doing 30- 150mg per day for about 8 months. Last time I quit was 3 months in cold turkey. Was hell on earth for 5 days. All the usual symptoms, anyone reading this has heard it before and I was no different. Quit for a month then decided I could use recreationally and control it. Ha. So here I am again. This time I am using codiene that I have aquired OTC and done CWE to get through. I am fully aware that I am replacing one opiate for another. The "plan" is to come off the oxy and taper the codiene to avoid the hell I suffered last time. From the research I have done codiene being a weak opiate is easier to taper and w/d from. So I had 100mg when I woke up at 10 am and another 100mg at 1:30 when I started to feel like shit. I am going to try and keep days 1-3 at approx 500mg. Then taper down 100 mg per day by decreasing each dose by 20mgs. Does this sound reasonable to anyone with experience? Also at what point should I cold turkey off the codiene. I was thinking when I am down to less than 100 mg per day? Any and all advice or encouragement is appreciated. Also bf is still sleeping, trying to avoid facing the inevitable. It's quarter to 4 here.

Welcome to bL. For technical information on withdrawal and how to cope, I'd check out Other Drugs. For the moral support side, be sure to swing by The Dark Side.

Hope to hear that things improve for you guys, and of course if you have any questions about the site, feel free to ask. <3

^^

OD is definitely a good place to discuss your withdrawals and how to deal with them on an actual chemical level. There are many threads on that topic if you search around Other Drugs.

Welcome to BL.
