A heavy indica dose either smoked in a bong or eaten in an edible will get you the narcotic body buzz you look for from opiates, but weed is a lot more of a psychedelic relaxant, while opiates are more of a purely hedonistic pleasure that makes you feel good no matter the circumstances, although set and setting will make any drug experience different.
Just remember that the opiate high =/= cannabis high =/= opiate and cannabis combo effect... they are all different experiences, and you should try it out for yourself and give us your own opinion.

if you don't like smoking and are accustomed to opiates then you'd probably enjoy cannabis edibles. They usually make me sleepy as hell though. I agree with poster above.
@Nogood: benzos are incredibly addictive, i wouldnt even mention them to someone who is new to using drugs. oxy isn't synthetic heroin either, just a completely different chemical with some similarities.

both drugs have very different effects on me. Weed gives me a more cloudy feeling, like its stronger i get higher from it. Not necessarily better. I get negative effects from weed that i have tried again and again hoping they would go away. It just gives me anxiety and paranoia with jumping back and forth from sad to happy, i dont like that out of control feeling but it effects everyone differently.
Opiates on the other hand are my favorite drugs from what iv tried by far. They give a clear headed kind of high. For me after taking any kind of opiate i feel relaxed, euphoric, and an overall sense of well being. Its that warm blanket by a fireplace drug. It makes all your problems dissappear and will be your best friend or love of your life. Take it too much and it becomes the devil as iv heard so be sure to take days off of the drug I dont promote addiction. I started out with a high tolerance to opiates which sucks but thats just how it is, from taking many oxy's iv been able to maintain my tolerance to 20-30mg high since iv started by dosing then waiting a couple days then dosing again. Iv tried Kratom before also thinking it would be a cheap and effective alternative to opiates but they just dont give the same high, I like my pharmicudicals.
If you enjoy weed stick with it, I wish I enjoyed it as much as most people do. Iv tried everything from smoking, vapeing, baking and iv even tried incense(which is a load of shit). Its more beneficial than people put it up to be, helps rethink life, promotes some brain cell growth, they even had a study that claimed smoking moderately helps IQ scores. Plus its way cheaper, a gram of weed runs anywhere from $10-20 getting cheaper if you buy in bulk. An OP Oxycontin 80 costs me $40. If you get into Kratom though thats like $20 for 56grams, cheap as dirt.

from someone with extensive experience on both, they are not similar in effect. T Hey are enjoyable together, but I imagine it could be a bit much for someone who has never used either before.

haha yeah if you do try both i wouldnt do it untill i've smoked or eaten weed at least a few times and watch your dose. Back when I was first getting into opiates and had low tolerance I took probably only like 10 or so mgs of oxy which I didnt expect to be enough, and someone had given me some hash oil a few days b4 that so I figured i;ll smoke some of that to try and increase the effect. Didn't smoke weed at all at the time, I went downstairs and dropped some hash oil on the stove burner and 30 seconds later I had to literally crawl/pull myself up the stairs to my room, was overwhelming and felt horrible until I wasnt so fucked up

I ate some AVB a while back and thought it felt like I had taken a low dose of hydrocodone.

Their effects go very well together, are you denying this? Also, weed isn't about anything. Weed is a drug (or a plant containing drugs if you're going to be all technical).

I disagree completely. While I do enjoy them on their own, I love smoking a bowl or two (not too much weed) after I've done a decent amount of Oxy. It seems to really add to the opiate high putting me in a very relaxed yet kind of distant state of mind. Honestly if I have oxy's, I almost always try to get my friends to smoke me down for that boost.

Agreed, one or two fat bong rips, or a single small-medium dab of BHO, goes together heavenly with opiate, potentiating every aspect of the opioid effect, including the analgesia. If you smoke too much weed, it overpowers the opioid high, which is quite subtle and complex, and the weed "clouds" up the high and makes the nuances of it much less noticeable.
To be honest, I don't even think weaker opioids like hydrocodone or kratom or tramadol are even worth taking recreationally if you don't have a bit of weed to smoke with them.

^ I would't say that. Kratom/Tramadol are really nice on their own, of course they're much stronger when combined with THC. Smoking a few balloons out of a Volcano blasts you off from earth. Never tried it with smoked THC and never will, but i can imagine the smoke/byproducts could make it crappy effects-wise.

Someone no longer uses either of them but they found that cannabis and pharmaceutical opiates in a low dose went well together; but they're synergistic.

I agree completely with your first sentence, as Kratom and Tramadol are 2 my favorite opioids, even over hydrocodone.
As to your second sentence, I disagree since I've tried it before many times. Now I dab wax and rarely smoke weed since it's too expensive compared to vaping BHO, but I used to buy top-shelf eighths that were fantastic, and I felt like using 0.07g in a bong along with a small wax dab or a bit of crappy kief sprinkled on top gave me the perfect high, as the smoke/byproducts give you a body high that "fucks you up" unlike vaping weed/dabbing BHO, and it's not too much to overpower the low-dose opioids at all. I have a VaporBrothers box-whip style vaporizer, and I shelfed it after a couple of weeks... I've used a Volcano, but there's nothing like the strong body high you get from a fat bong rip of weed.

Another way to look at it...If opium was still legal (like in the early 1900's) when it was popular to vape' after the workday.
I dont think you could compare it to any cannabis, other than maybe a mental boost of energy, (depending on how much you use before putting pipey down) & the need to be more talkative, like a good sativa does for me.
