oxy situation??

Ok i had a question for the experienced oxycontin, i consider myself pretty experienced also, but i wasnt sure about this.
Not to long ago i was at a party at this chicks house, as i was walking around talking to some people this kid called me over. He took me in the other room and pulled out a bottle of 20mg Oxycontin , then i kinda figured i knew why he looked so fucked up. He had apparently stolen the bottle from a family member. He asked me how much it took to OD on them, after giving me a few free ones. He was hanging on the wall shaking and looking really pale.
I asked how much he had done and he said he did 20 mg at one time and then about an hour later he did 40 mg. I knew this was not good , I knew not to let him fall asleep, and me and a few friends whove had experience with OC watched him carefully. I told him to eat and drink some water.
I just wanted to know if there is anything good to do to prevent an overdose when someone has taken too much OC without knowing they took too much.
Anything is appreciated.

If they were swallowed whole make them throw up as much as possible. Not sure, but I don't think 60mg is near death level, but not sure. The first time I ever too oxy(with no opiate tolerance) I took 4 10mg tabs at once with 2mg of xanax, about 6-8 beers, and topped it off with an ambien(frist time iwht that also. I thought I felt fine and fell a sleep, but my wife said I was convulsing, breathing irradicaly, ,and even stopped breathing a couple of times. Scary huh. I did not even knw I was doing this. She was so pissed, becase excpt for the xanax, all of it came form her grandmas med cabinet, and it was her funeral we wwret ther for.

I don't think 60mg is "near death level" especially since you took 40mg your first time and stupidly combined all thsoe other drugs, but like you said you may have been having some adverse reactions while "sleeping" you were probably nodding actually. Anyways, the first time I did oxy with NO tolerance to any opiates, I stupidly took 60 mg over about 3-4 hours (20mg doses at a time). I also drank about 3 beers and had a little weed. So yes my first time doing it was also a dumb one too. Needless to say I only puked a few times that night, nodded my way through "sleep for a few hours" then woke up at like 7am to start violently puking for the next 4 or 5 hours, probably one of the most unpleasent times ever for me with a drug!
Anyways, as far as what to do to reduce symptoms of an OD. First, if you have any doubts whatsoever on a friend's health, please call an abulance. I would never be upset if a group of friends called for help for me, I'd be very grateful. I hope everyone realizes this too. Anyways, as far as taking too much oxy, I would have a hard time discerning between a high dose and a lethal dose...(that's where the ambulance comes into play again). But like Dragon_MD said, trying to throw up as much as possible could help if they were swallowed, if they were snorted or banged, forget about it. I'd also try to keep them awake, but if you take a shitload you'll probably be nodding to hard to stay awake.
Anyways, I'd say your best bet when in ANY doubt about one's medical condition is to call for help. Also, a good tip to remember, if you ever do have to call for help, try not to mention drug use in the person's problem over the phone. The reason being, is if you say, "my friend took a bunch of oxycontin and stopped breathing" chances are they will not only send some paramedics, but the cops will come too, then you have to deal with drugs in the house and all that bullshit, wait till the paramedics arrive till you tell them about what drugs they took...when you call you can just say, "my friend is having trouble breathing." then once they arrive, you should mention the drugs to help assist the paramedics.
I hope that helped some without sounding like a rant too much, I just hate reading about people dying cuz no one called for help!

You really need to inform the paramedics asap as to what is going on with the person so they can come prepared. Also, if you dial 911 that's an open invitation for law enforcement as well as paramedics no matter what the emergency is. And chances are the cops are gonna show up first. Learn the local number that dials directly to the EMT service and use that instead of 911.

60 mg *is* a potentially fatal dose for a non tolerant person, though usually thats snorted. but still, the possibility is there, especially if the person has been drinking. that is ALOT of oxy for a first timer.
the only really good way to stop an od is a shot of narcan. if someone has taken too much, do what bonecutter has suggested and call the EMT's. you won't get in trouble, you can say the person ate them not knowing what they were (ie. "my friend had a headache, and he thought they were like tylenol", play dumb)...something like that. but no matter what, saving someone's life is more important than the possibility of getting in trouble.

if he was drinking alcohol while on them 60mgs is plenty to od. i did a half of an 80 one night after a few beers and fell out. so that was only 40mgs. i had about 5 or 6 beers to. this was when i forst got into oxys. it was a scary night.
anyways, to answer your question keep him moving around and his blood flowing. dont let him sit down.
