So I did 5 5mg oxy/325 mg acetaminophen (ingested), which is just 25 mgs of oxy. This was my first time doing it and I didn't even think I would feel anything from such a small dose. About an 1 hour later (I took them on a half-full stomach) I started feeling the effects and they were GREAT. I was thinking about how I could totally see how people get addicted to this stuff. Then I puked. of course when on oxy it didn't really faze me and I kept on just listening to music, and about 2 hours later I passed out.

I woke up with morning with the worst headache of my life and I've puked 4 times (once from just drinking water). What's happening? I've tried looking up severe oxy comedowns and hangovers but no one really talks about puking.

Basically, is this more normal than I think? because I can't see how anyone would want to do this after doing it once, I know I'll never touch this shit again.

Having a hangover the next morning after taking a big dose of opiats the night before, especially when opiate naive, is very common. 25mg is quite a high dose for someone with no tolerance. I'm not sure why you think that is a low dose, but it certainly isn't. For someone who has no tolerance at all to opiates, 10mg should be a sufficient dose. I've been a heroin addict for about 3 years now, but back in high school when I had no experience with opiates of any kind, 5mg of oxy would have me feeling good, 10mg would have be blasted. If I were to take 25mg back then, I am sure it would have been WAY too much and make me sick.

If you are to take oxy again, I would GREATLY reduce your dose. Try 10mg, and you can always add some more later on if that isn't enough.. You can always tke more, but once you take it you can't un-do it. I remember a number of times when I was opiate naive, that after a big session the night before I would be in the exact same boat you're in. The hangover would be crippling, much worse than an alcohol hangover for sure. MONSTER headache, nausea, dizzy, eyes VERY sensitive to light, sweats/chills, etc. Symptoms sort of like withdrawal symptoms, but to the extreme.

It doesn't last forever, though. If you get in the same situation in the future, your best bet is to just try and stay hydrated, see if you can eat something healthy, and just try and lie down and sleep it off. It is wickedly shitty feeling, but it isn't going to kill you and will certainly go awa.

So, moral of my story - Reduce you dose in the future. There is no reason you would need a big dose like that if you have no tolerance. Try 10mg and see wehre that gets you, you can always add more a couple hours lter if you aren't exactly where you want to be.

ahhh good to know, you're described EXACTLY what I'm feeling. The person who gave them to me said 25mg was a normal dose.... he probably thought I had them before or just didn't realize.
If I ever try them again, I'll definitely be lowering the dose. I just though that a low dose wouldn't get me anywhere.
thanks for the advice

It's reassuring to see that other people have experienced this. I've been doing opiates for 3 years or so (40mg Opana is my current choice) but at the beginning when I had no tolerance, I brought a bunch of the 20mg Opanas (20mg Opana = about 80mg OC) on a vacation one time. Did a bunch the first couple days like a LOT more than I was used to doing, and the morning of the 2nd or 3rd day I had this crippling hangover like you guys describe. I knew it couldn't be withdrawals but had never heard of an opiate hangover. But yeah it went away by later that morning.

Yea you dosed way way too high, opiates are known for being friendly on the come down. Usually if you dose normally you should wake up feeling pretty normal, maybe a little drained or tired and that's it. But with a dose like that i could see the other stuff coming in, where opiates are bad is the addiction and withdrawal. They easily have the potential for both, thats for sure.

What used to help me with the nausea is lay down flat as if you were sleeping but with you're heading propped up so you can watch TV. Not sure if it's like alcohol and you can have "the hair of the dog that bit you," and take a small dose maybe 5 or 10 mg to help you feel better. You should eat, but try to eat something that might not be so harsh on the way back up. Feel better.

I've had that exact same thing happen to me from hydrocodone years ago. Odd thing is, now I use heroin and I never suffer that sort of hangover from heroin. Some days I wake up still high, lol. But If I do get a hangover from heroin, it generally just consists of lethargy (which is not entirely unpleasant as long as I don't have to do anything) and irritability. Slight nausea perhaps. It's nothing like the horrendous hangovers I used to get from vicodin. Anyone know why this could be?

I think I would have overdosed & wound up in the hospital if I would have taken 25mgs of oxy my 1st time. You obviously had a hangover because you took too much & that is why you were vomiting. Your body was telling you how you over did it.
