Overdosing on Vicodin/Percocet/hydromorphone?

I do not shoot up any drugs, I take enough to feel ok, sometimes good, but I am still worried about overdosing. Can someone give me any facts on how much vicodin or percocet or hydromorphone it takes to overdose? Now that my tolerance is getting so much higher I am getting worried. The painkillers are helping with the pain I have from a serious illness, but I am taking more than prescribed and am worried now. If I go off the painkillers, the symptom that they suppress comes back. So that is out of the question. I know this is a lame newbie question to ask, but any feedback would be so appreciated! I have two little ones and don't want them to lose their mother. Thank you so much for any feedback! <sorry we can't help with this> <3<3<3

We can't help you find sources on this site, its the rules here and could get us banned if we did... however I don't know of any anyway that's really risky territory and asking to get either ripped off or raided by the DEA. As to the overdose it depends largely on your tolerance.

And also if you are taking for example 5mg percoset with a lot of apap (tylenol) in it you'll probably overdose from the tylenol before the oxycodone.. to avoid this you can do a cold water extraction which will remove a lot of the nasty tylenol that's bad for your liver

Use the search button in the top right hand corner and search for it with the world "megathread" or "big and dandy" in it you'll find it. That's what big threads on this site are labeled as

I'd help with a link but I'm on my phone writing this

We don't know your tolerance, nor how much you are using of any of those drugs, so we can't tell you how much will cause you to OD.

Also, no one can help you find a online pharmacy. We aren't here to help you find drugs. It is against the rules of the forum (no sourcing).

If you are taking vicodin and percocet you need to be worried about the apap (tylenol) in them. Taking 3000mgs daily can cause live damage, and any more of that can cause acute liver problems. You need to perform a cold water extraction if the doses you need to get high contain more than 3000mg of apap.

We can't tell you what dose will cause an overdose becuase tolerance plays a very big role in it making it vary from person to person. A lot of addicts with high tolerances will barely get high off of a dose that will kill the average person. Know your body and know your limits. If you feel like you are going to OD then get help.

With pills (vs heroin) you at least have an opportunity to tell if the onset and rush is becoming too much for you. I tend to think of my first sign of overdosing being that I cannot keep my eyes open and am losing motor coordination.

But like everyone said, at what dose this occurs is totally dependent on the user, their tolerance and so on. Just be aware of your state of mind after you take your pills and know that crushing, chewing or other kinds of manipulation can release too much of the medication too quickly.

As others have said, it is the APAP you need to be most concerned about - you should not exceed 2000mg in one dose or 3000-4000mg in 24 hours. If you do it is essential that you carry out a Cold Water Extraction (CWE) to remove the excess ASAP. A link to the technique can be found here.

If you are taking the same dose of opioids each day, only increasing slowly when your tolerance goes up, then you should be okay in terms of opioid overdose but make sure you don't mix them with any other CNS depressants (alcohol, benzos etc) as this hugely increases your chance of ODing. If you are worried about the amount you are consuming then it is a good idea to speak to your doctor about adjusting your analgesia.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate the feedback. I AM on Benzos. I take .05 klonopin a day and then I take Librax as needed, usually two pills a day. Just worried, so sick or being sick and on meds.

If you're having issues with cognitive awareness, general function, shallow breathing / pulse, difficulty swallowing.. you're having a mild-moderate opi OD.

Overdose = too much; does NOT mean you are dead (just likely on the way...).

With drugs like Percocet and Hydrocodone, I'd be more worried about overdosing on APAP. However Hydromorphone, depends on ROA but just be smart about it.
