so tonight and the past 2 nights i've taken suboxone. first night i did about 1mg, last night i did 1mg maybe a little more and tonight i'd say i did about 1.5-2mg about 4-5 hours ago, insufflated every time.

about 3 hours ago i was smoking a cigarette right after i did my last little bit i started to nod a little and felt kinda nauseas and just puked maybe 20 minutes ago.

now my question, since suboxone has such a ridiculously long half life is it possible that i'd still have 1/2 or even 1/4 amounts of the shit i did over the past few days still doin its work and if so, is there THAT big of a probability of an overdose?

a little background, normally i'd do a roxy(30 mg oxy) maybe throw in some benadryl or tonic water and i'd be good. honestly i think i may just be overreacting in my head causing anxiety for me since i am still typing and reading and all that, sorry if this post is completely unnecessary and wastes time, im just a little anxious and got no one else around to ask or talk to, thanks.

Yeah they build on each other.

Your risk of overdose on bupe is low due to the ceiling, however with little to no tolerance it is likely still possible. You almost assuredly just got nauseous from the cig mixed with the bupe and will be fine :D.

1.5-2mg of buprenorphine is substantially stronger than 30mg of oxycodone. The mu agonist effects level out between 2 and 4mg which is equivalent to about 30mg of methadone. Acutely, 30mg of oxycodone = ~5mg methadone. As a mixed agonist-antagonist the conversions between buprenorphine and full agonists are nonlinear and can vary substantially, but its safe to say you exceeded your tolerance and given the half-life, there certainly can be cumulative effects making it even more potent for you.

Regarding possibility of overdose, it depends on your definition... you're not going to fatally OD on bupe alone due to its effects as a partial agonist. As long as you don't mix other CNS depressants or other drugs, you don't have to worry about killing yourself. Many only use 'OD' around here to mean fatal or life-threatening but medically speaking, you can produce adverse effects without fatally overdosing such as the effects from respiratory depression and not getting enough oxygen. These effects are generally only clinically significant when repeatedly A LOT over time, but I was just pointing it out because depending on definition, that could be considered an overdose.

EDIT:

Amapola nailed it. Good graph, too! Thanks

thank you for that chart, that's very helpful and yes i meant fatally OD which is probably even dumb asking cuz i'd assume if i were to OD i wouldnt have the chance to think, type and read responses about it. sometimes anxiety kicks in for me tho, so thank you guys for reassuring me that i can go to sleep and wake up tomorrow :)

^definitely and you don't have to apologize for feeling anxious! Its a horrible feeling and you can't help it so I'm glad we were able to help allay some of those worries. It sounds like we can wrap this up so I'm going to close it. If you'd like it reopened for any reason, please feel free to private message me :)

Take care
