Overdose Caused Neurological Damage

100F may not be life threatening but its quite an uncomfortable and abnormal temperature to live with

Can I be a bit pedantic & picky (course I can, this is the one forum I can get away with impunity =D) and ask 'what about the metric sysyem'.?

We Europeans are getting more & more militant about it these days! =D

unlucky, I went through a similar (though less severe) experience after (in my stupid days of course) taking 100mg of adderal and a pill of mdma. I overheated pretty bad the night of the nightmare, but I was back in control of my temp the next day. I was suffering serious muscle spasms the entire night; and those subsided over the course of about a week. Feel free to shoot me a PM for more detailed description of the effects if you want.

I had a similar experience with cocaine. Well, not really similar and not as severe but... you'll see.

This was about 2.5 years ago. I had been doing cocaine every 4-7 days for about 6 months. I was not addicted and, in fact, I didn't really like cocaine (or any other stimulants for that matter) but I did it just because it was "cheap" and readily available.

This night I started out light and was doing a few lines of cocaine every 30-60minutes or so. One of my "friends" (the dealer) asked for a ride home so I said, "no problem". We got to his house and we were hanging out in the garage doing lines. They were used to doing a lot so I tried to keep up with them. I did a lot more than I usually did. I had to go so they pressured me to do one more huge line. I did it. I took my friend to the gas station so he could pick up some beers and while he was inside I started feeling extremely nervous and agitated. My skin was starting to get clamy and I was starting to tremble. I had to get out of the car and pace up and down in front of the gas station. I dropped him off at his house and proceeded to go back to my other friend's house. The dealer was concerned and told me to call as soon as I got to my other friend's house.

I got about 1/3 of the way there when my legs started feeling really heavy and my extremities started tingling. I got so scared (and confused because even though I was very familiar with the area I couldn't think of how to drive to the hospital) that I pulled over at a grocery store and called 911 from a payphone. When I got to the hospital my symptoms started to get worse. I had severe tachycardia and I almost passed out several times. I was hyperventilating and at one point it seemed like my whole body went numb and I had tunnel vision. The symptoms slowly tapered off throughout the next couple of hours and about an hour after I felt better, I was released.

I am no longer able to take any type of stimulant without having a panic attack that feels like an overdose. In fact, even drugs with very mild stimulant effects such as cannabis and pseudoephedrine have given me panic attacks since then. Once, a Soma (muscle relaxer) gave me a panic attack. I also get very nervous every time I take an opiate painkiller and feel any euphoric effects (only legally prescribed ones, of course). I get this irrational fear that I am overdosing even though I know I'm not and have taken less than that amount before and not even been close to ODing.

I'm just wondering if these symptoms are purely psychological or if there is something physically wrong with me, as well. Maybe some mild form of post traumatic stress disorder? Even the SLIGHTEST amount of cocaine sent me into an almost immediate, debilitating panic attack.

P.S. I never had a panic attack until that day (if that is all it was). Also, a good thing has come from this. I can longer do stimulants.

Magic this clearly sounds like a neurological problem. If I were you id ask for a pet scan to point out what section of the brain is causing these symptoms.

Spectacularly stupid advice considering the above description of symptoms

The fact that it's only when the euphoria of opiates starts that the panicing begins makes me think it's mostly (if not totally) psychological. If it was nmeurological it would occur regardless of any euphoria. Sounds like a learned avoidance response like people with agoraphobia etc develop

I was thinking about your problem last night, whilst it might not be possible to deal with the underlying cause there may be a way to obtain symptomatic relief

trp receptors mediate hot capsaicin chilli and cold sensation, unlucky you report feeling hot all the time perhaps symptomatic relief might come from something like icilin which is centrally active or menthol which is peripherally active, I don't really know but it is interesting non the less.

icilin

Nociceptive sensory peripheral neurons often express both heat sensitive (VR1) and cold-sensitive (CMR1 (rat); TRPM8 (human)) receptors that are part of the transient receptor potential (TRP) superfamily. Icilin (AG 3-5) is a synthetic CMR1/TRPM8 super agonist that is 2.5-fold more efficacious and nearly 200-fold more potent than the reference cold thermosensory agonist, l-menthol.1 Icilin induces sensations of intense cold when applied orally in humans, and induces 'wet dog shakes', a behavioral marker of cold sensation, when given to rats. Icilin should serve as the reference cold nociceptive agonist for TRP-type ion channels in the future.2

That sounds cool...but wouldn't he be worried about the possibility of overheating and not knowing it? He might have to constantly watch his temperature since he wouldn't be able to feel if he's going into a danger zone.

i have hyperthyroidism. i love speed. specifically, ampethamine and methampthetine. BEFORE recreational drug use i also had high temp at any exciting or stressful situation. and i would literally be sweating and shaking. i actually got cold sweats to where i was hot and sweaty and grabbing a jacket.

i dont know whyyy it happens. but it is possible your have the same condition as me. get an hcl test. as fucked up as i get, i always attributed my issues to drug use and was very opposed to blood tests. lol. i wish i would have WAAAAy earlier.
