I have a similar attitude towards the stuff, It had a period of usefulness back at the start of the decade when the gear was real again but mostly weak as it could get while still providing an effect - it saved wasting a benzo and worked really well but when taken on its own it was sedating but without being recreational or pleasant in the slightest, largely nutral effect but mildly erring on the unpleasant side at times, as you said 'dirty' but not to the extent of say, those mad piperazine tablets that were everywhere during that year or so when it was dead hard to find ees or crystal - totally off topic remark here - while they were a pain as we were so desperate for decent beans and they made my girlfriend violently sick every time she took them (it took me a couple of rounds to realise what they were and what was going on as I had only just cleaned up for the first time 6 months prior and had not been pilled up since the prev.nye) I and another couple of dickheads who were a right laugh still took them when we were desperate for a real twist and they were just about mad enough to justify the headaches and barf inducing bodyload, with a couple of 2mg rivotrils to rinse them out - but they were what I would consider a real dirty buzz.
Getting back out my ass and (sort) of back OT temazepam is the one bzd I would not use in a combo, as they are my favourite in terms of acute effects and perhaps the only bzd I find genuinely recreational, as any pleasure I derive from most others results from being so highly strung, making the anxiolytic effects more marked as they come on. Temazepam one of 2 bzds I have only ever had intermittent access to through special circumstance (in most cases I was gifted a strip), the other being midazolam, not quite as lush but epic strong sleep paralysis out of body madness (I managed to get a pile of just out of date emergency buccal syringe kits for bringing people out of seizures, a 5ml in each cheek (equiv to only 10mg dzp) and well away.
