Outrageous oxycodone prices in Melb or rip off?

Hello all, haven't been on here since maybe 2011-2012, apparently we can discuss prices now?

This is good because the past 6 months I've been dabbling in oxycodone (getting endone 5mg boxes off a friend for script prices) but he's recently run out. I've only recently moved to Melbourne city and i'm pretty straight-cut nowadays and the only hook up I really have quoted me $80 for a single Oxynorm 20mg IR capsule, or $1.5k for a box of 20. I nearly spat my drink out. I was expecting something like $1/mg and even then I was gonna have to consider it. Is this guy just trying to rip me off or is that pretty standard for trying to get something like oxy nowadays? I was considering offering him $100 for 2 but even that's painful after 6 months of basically free boxes. Anyway all I'm really trying to ask is if this is normal or if this guy is just trying to rip me off?

He's not trying to rip you off, he's telling you his price.
I think it's way too high and wouldn't pay it, but high prices, even crazy high prices like that, that's not the same as someone ripping you off.

If I have a box of 20mg oxys, I'd rather keep them than sell them, so the price would be really high if someone were taking them off me. That's probably what's going on.

That box of oxycodone might save him from paying a grand for heroin that week.

This should be sufficient to answer your questions. The average price in the eastern states is approximately $1/1mg.

I've seen posts on here that Oxy, heroin etc is going to become really hard to get because of the taliban banning production of making heroin, opium etc, people are already struggling to find it in certain areas, this could be why his prices are heart attack material, as that's bloody insane for 20mg, that's the price of 80mg in America I know that much even though I don't live there, we can't get them in the UK, I did for a week or so though, very rare find and it was 8 x 40mg Santoz Oxy for £56 including P&P think I bought 4 or 5 packs of 8, I couldn't believe how cheap it was compared to America and even sent one off to be tested in a lab, they was legit, I only used for ten days then stopped before I got addicted when my tolerance hit 80mg, fast forward a few months when I wanted more he'd been busted, it was through an app not the street though, and no one on the app can get any only shitty Zomorph 10mg which was so crap I didn't buy anymore

Cant talk for Europe but Australian heroin hasnt and wont be effected price wise. In fact it's cheaper now than it's ever been. Always extremely high purity #4 unless you want to pay less and ask for Afghan #3.

That doesn't surprise me with the drug laws in Australia. Today I went to buy some Kratom from the US which I got with no worries in 2018, and discovered it had been banned in 2020.

I don't know what restrictions are put on doctors but I sure know they're getting tougher. I was on Oxy and benzos in 2020 and the GP had to get me off them, so I did pretty quickly. But the worst was a few months later I had to stop the benzos cold turkey! I also think they're getting stricter at the pharmacists' end.

I've been clean off heroin 21 years, but I've seen Wedinos lab reports that the brown powder sold here in UK is mixed with all sorts or RC shit fake opioids, I can't remember the names of the RCs but it's not bloody proper heroin, yeah no fent but it's bashed to fuck according to Wedinos, back when I did it it was bashed with mannitol, baby laxative, plus other stuff I'd expect but we all knew mannitol was the main bash, now heroin addicts here are injecting all sorts of crap, spoke to one person said paracetamol helps it run better for people that smoke it on foil, had no idea back in the day, but I probably smoked and injected that too, oh and reddish brown brick dust, and part of me knew it was brick dust, I knew I'd been ripped off but I was in proper withdrawal and injected it anyway incase it had any heroin in it!

All benzodiazepines are sch4 here (prescription) other than Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol) which was mad schedule 8 (controlled drug) in 2000 and now Alprazolam which was upgraded from 4 to 8 In 2014.

I was probably getting it filled too early so he was warning me "don't push it". But if 10mg/day isn't that much according to a specialist and a GP, why is it the "maximum dose"?

This whole business of when I could get it filled changed at some point too (I got private scripts of 2 x 50 tablets and all of a sudden I was in trouble for wanting the second script too early).

The whole thing is just such hypocrisy when I can walk into a bottleshop and buy a bottle of whiskey no questions asked.

A small number of them seem to enjoy the power trip of questioning a medical practitioners prescriptions. Unfortunately they actually get final say over what they will or wront dispense.

It's not him trying to rip you he's just aware of the standard prices for them. Prices vary wildly. I was quoted $20 for a 5mg oxy off the street while another had 20mg oxynorms for $40 each. Dark net had 20mg oxynorms for $60 each while another vendor had 10mg oxynorms for $120. One vendor had 80mg oxys for $160 and another had 40mg oxys for $160. Others had 80mg for $240 each. So anything from $2 - $4 per mg.

If you're not an addict and only use once in a while then I'd just snap up those oxynorms when they come round because they are exceedingly rare to find unless someone has a script for them. Even on the dark net they rarely show up.

Holy fkinh shitttt, with 1.5k$ I could get high everyday with either oxy 20mg or 30mg morphine pills, plus booze, fags, some weed and a few visits of high end escorts each week lol. Hot Colombians that would make u drool, lols. I live in South America though, that's why. ✌

Oxys are getting more popular due to music imo and they are also harder and harder to get through docs. Only way you can get them cheap is by getting them off someone that’s prescribed them.

Melbourne H much more cost effective even if you aren't shooting it, quality is high enough that you can snort it and still efficient money wise if you haven't got a tolerance (As I said with the oxy, same goes with H, even more so, if it's not a habitual thing don't bother, because it will become habitual soon enough, unless you're wired differently to the rest of us!)

Come to Australia and with 1.5k all you can get is a carton of cigarettes for $300, a bag of weed for $300 or $300 for a gram of 5% purity coke, 3 bottles of bourbon for $100, 2x 40mg oxys for $300, and 3x sessions with a hooker for $500. Though our wages are pretty high at $1000-$1500 per week our cost of living means little is left over for drugs and escorts.
