Outdoor plant still not ready yet, worried about weather

Alot of outdoor strains can go til octorber fine, When did you plant is the more important factor in this questions proper answer.. just keep a very close eye on them daily, and an even closer eye on the temp, if u see it get to ZERO, anymore than 1 night out at that temp and your plants run a risk of getting AssFucked by the frost.

ason,

i'm disappointed. i said the same thing and got no credit. ha.

yea u can grow in spring/summer in PA. check out www.rollitup.org. it is the shit for growing info and access to other growers.

u need to plant in early spring though. you could even start the plants in the window sill and wait til after the last frost before you bring them outside. otherwise, start in mid-to-late-march (after temps are above 40 overnight).

planting in june or july will give you the same results as you have now if growing outside. it's just too late and they'll get frozen one night in autumn before getting any bud.

how long have you been growing?

I was just bored over the summer, weedless because I couldn't get anymore money, so I decided to experiment and planted some seeds back in July. I fucked up and planted some in some miracle gro that was sitting outside for who knows how long, and some in some potting soil which were the best grown. All the good healthy ones turned out to be male, and my only female looked like that for most of the time. I just kept watering it and feeding it to see if I could get anything out of it. I'm definately gonna try again next year, I'll plant in March, but when should I expect to harvest? I'm thinking of growing a bunch of plants to make sure I have some females, but I definately don't want to have to many, cause I want to conceal them in my backyard, and sometimes I have to move them on short notice (like when the dude my mom hires to cut the grass comes lol) I'm probably gonna use the same pots, and plant two seeds in a big gallon sized pots.

dewd - bring it inside...

then damage the stalks so they repair themselves fatter and stay squat...even if you can't use a light... it's easy to grow with SOME kind of light without getting detected... or are you really that scred of (your mum?) ?!?! If so just let it die and learn a lesson mang

You want to keep it out until the first heavy frost then pick it. But here in the Appalachian it's been so wet that you have to check your plants just about every day to make sure it's not got the black rot from all the moisture. If it starts to turn brown or black in the tips of the buds go ahead and bring it in otherwise wait until the first heavy frost..it'll be worth the wait.

I'm definately gonna try again next year, I'll plant in March, but when should I expect to harvest

that depends somewhat on the strain. some go long; some are shorter. if you plant in mid-march, i'd say you'll see some harvest around august, maybe into september when the daylight time shortens.

i've only ever grown indoors (i mean, my friend has only ever grown inside and i just watched, right?). so it's hard for me to say exactly what outdoor growing might change. but basically, the plants will grow big and bushy while there's a lot of daylight out. then, after the plants starts seeing less daylight per day, it begins flowering.

good job getting interested in growing. it's probably more fun than smoking.8o

I'd say this week would be your best beat. Take a look at weather predictions, temps dropping into the... erhhm... high 20s. Tuesday-thursday possible storms.... I'd worry about the nights. Best of luck.

Nights and early mornings been pretty cold, but its showed no signs of any bad stuff happening, all the new growth is still healthy and growing, the only issue is the ones from the beginning, small size, one of the top leaves is shriveled a bit, middle section is brown, but the opposite leaf healed up and is better. This may just be a hardy plant lol. Yeah but the buds are probably fingernail size atm, I want to harvest it at a time where atleast I can get high off it.

Well good for you for trying, but take this as a learning experience (I am sure you will). Your next harvest will undoubtedly be much better.

I'm gonna see what it looks like in a week or two, the buds are forming pretty nicely though, I'm gonna try to leave it out in direct sun for the rest of its growing time to make sure it finishes strong.

i suggest for your next grow to make a stealth grow box and use cfls all the way from seed to harvest. I suggest 100 watts per plant, make sure the bulbs add up to 100 watts, not what it says on the package for each bulb. you will want daylight bulbs and those yellow ones. look on www.rollitup.org for more advice. If you are able to purchase seeds online, try to get an indoor strain that has less smell.

Well, I am only 16 lol. If I could get my hands on some small CFLs I'd definately try it. I used to have a desk lamp (threw it out I guess), I could of used that to finish this plant off but the thing is I'm not always home and woudln't be able to keep the lights on a 12/12 schedule all the time. I do know a place where I could probably hide a few plants though in my house if they stayed small and didn't smell too much lol.

I'm definately gonna grow some outdoors this spring though.

My friends and I were thinking about turning this abandoned place into a grow spot, still has electricity, nobody has rented it out yet, but we're the only ones who know about it. I'll see if I can jack some CFLs from it if there is any though.

Debating to pull it soon, buds aren't that big though, getting really cold....

EDIT: Just looked at it buds are finger nail sized, plant is doing good despite the cold weather though, I'm thinking of letting it go for two more weeks, but I'm gonna move it somewhere where it will definately get light, maybe on top of the roof on my back porch? I doubt anyone would see it, I don't see helicopters would be looking for this small lil thing.
