In that guys defense, what he suggested has been talked about and debated on BL many many times.

Not that I think its a good idea myself, but still haha.

Unfortunately BL doesn't practice affirmative action, this might surprise you to hear but we're all here on the basis of merit alone! =D All I can offer is that we do have a much healthier sausage to vag ratio than many other large online communities and that's what makes BL such a great place (for dirty old pervs like me). :D

I know you weren't trying to rip on the mods that left but I wanted to make this point. When a mod needs to leave BL for whatever reason we only pass on what they want to tell everyone out of respect for their privacy... in my experience, not talking about any specific mod, those that leave for personal reasons really need to do so.

Often if we are lucky enough to get a message, that's all we'll pass on. You might say that someone who is an addict, has drug problems or is otherwise unstable in life shouldn't apply for a mod position if they could just disappear at any moment.

I wouldn't agree with that. I think stability should be a consideration but peer education means that your forum should be run by people who are like you, who live similar lives to you and have been (or are still going through) the same things you are.

for us people in the future (australians) it's the 30th, so for you backwards people you've got another few hours to get your applications in. although, if you were serious enough about replying i'm sure it would have been in earlier:)

just to let you guys know what's going on : our nominations will be decided within the next 24 hours and sent off to the admin for their scrutiny and soon enough our new messiah's will be crowned.
