organizing a "Play"

have you ever organized a "Play"; a theatrical event - that is in a controlled environment..?


i have experience doing so with raves and club events to extents, so from this i don't feel as naive (i dont think lol); money isnt an option because inspiration will carry the event.


so here you go, i have some flour and water -

i assume learn this 'script' by heart, and then just start looking for some few characters, and start trying to evolve with that... this must be done in the dark btw, so puts a neg on many park type settings - which would be especially interesting.


idk, before i start rambling, learn me something.

this is an area that would be very receptive to this, and there are many venues in various locations,,, as well as many open-air park settings available.

There are usually theater groups in your area.

In fact, I went to a local one last night so I know one in your area hahaha

You could check into different theaters around and see how they go about doing it.
Knowing you, I think you'd be great in theater!

Hopefully someone else will have more tips on doing it on your own, if that is what you are wanting- but I think the best plan is to get into a group b/c it's a huge process I'm sure.
(venue, script, planning, costumes, makeup, rehersals, cost etc.)

When it comes to achieving anything, the steps in order are...

define exactly what it is you want to achieve

What people you need to achieve your goal

Where your going to do it

How much it's going to cost

Then delegate jobs to those involved

stuck there, i have a script but i feel with some hard limitations with-out contacting the author...:-\
so heheh, 'specific' is needed, but i have to keep until then to extents, realistically to stay progressive.

a couple of people who are creative and organized is nice, individuals to build upon with from there.

money: i know will come with the right effort, and the right resources - so this is a balance of capabilities and means.

the job will be created by the ability of the delegate - and with a more realistic-revised 'stage play' drawn out.

I was a theatre major in college, I've worked back stage and been on stage... ask me anything :D

Seriously though, what exactly is it that you want to know? What kind of play did you have in mind? A natural setting, or an indoor setting? Are you going to use a stage? Natural lights or set lights? There are a lot of aspects... give me an idea of what you want to do, and I can probably tell you how to do it.
