I was hanging out with this dude last night who was raving about some "organic mdma" that he had taken. He said he "tripped" for 24 hours. Obviously he does not know what he's talking about and it wasn't mdma. Has anyone heard of this stuff? He said it was extracted from a plant called woodruff but that didn't yield much information for me.

Probably some other drug completely that makes you "trip" and a few losers thought it would be cool to call it "organic MDMA".

My first thought was mescaline, but most people know what they're doing. Not to mention people call mescaline "Organic lsd"

My first thought was that you meant woodrose seeds, but I don't think any LSA lasts 24 hours.

Yeah I told him "that probably wasn't mdma..." And he got really defensive. I was thinking it was maybe a psychedelic amphetamine like dom or doi. I looked up woodruff and it contains the compound coumarin. Are there any psychedelic derived from coumarin?

isnt MDMA organic to begin with....cause organic means it contains carbon last i knew, and i'm preeeeeeeeeetyyyyyyyyyyyyyy sure MDMA has a few carbons on it

From what I can find I would say your friend is confused about the name :D

Coumarin -

Coumarin has blood-thinning, anti-fungicidal and anti-tumor activities. Coumarin should not be taken while using anticoagulants. Coumarin increases the blood flow in the veins and decreases capillary permeability. Coumarin can be toxic when used at high doses for a long period.

Woodruff -

woodruff is a little plant which grows in woods and in shady areas. Sweet woodruff has various benefits. In ancient times, the herb was harvested and used for culinary and medicinal purposes. The fresh leaves are used to heal wounds. It has an aromatic quality.

The herb is considered calmative, diaphoretic (makes you sweat) and a diuretic. The herb soothes the stomach and is a tonic for heart and liver.

Tripping for 24 hours sounds strange and would make me think of a DO / AM type of substance and Ive never heard of either being called 'Organic' anything :D.

There really is no way to tell what your friend took. Drugs all have different effects on different people. What felt like it lasted 24 hours on him could have felt like it lasted 12 on another. All that this is going to accomplish is a bunch of people guessing at a substance that nobody has any idea what it really is.

Haha, common sense says that mdma is obviously organic, but he's talking about a naturally occurring compound that has similar affects to MDMA.

:X :X :X :X :X

So if I go to wal-mart I can get some non-organic milk too rite?

Of course you can?

the big difference is - both are produced by cows, one set are fed all sorts of shit - the others are not (allegedly).

With MDMA production you can go get a sassafrass plant and go from there (organic) OR you can get a load of Methylenedioxy chemicals and start from there (synthetic).

One is organic the other synthetic?

Oh I see what you mean haha. If we're talking natural route versus advanced chemical route.

Both are technically synthetic though. MDMA doesn't grow on trees. Still has to go through multiple organic chemistry reactions.

if mdma DID grow on trees well... that'd be a popular tree.

haha :D Organic MDMA does grow in trees though =D and its so popular that the inorganic route took over. Lol'z

you mean the safrole (a.k.a. methylenedioxy chemical) grows on trees. i know you're kidding, but i'm trying to prevent the creation of myths: there's no inorganic route to mdma, mdma synthesis is always organic chemistry.

Ooops -your right I was messing about but did you miss that I switched 'On' for 'In' trees in my reply (for organic route) ?

Im not going to try and tell you that the production of any drug isnt organic as who are the chemists, where did they come from, what chemicals are they using.

I was simply playing with the notion that

'organic' MDMA = Safrole from a tree

vs

'Inorganic' MDMA = Safrole from something like 4-allyl catechol.
