Let me begin by saying that I don't want to break site rules with this thread, so please close it if I'm in violation, please explain why it got closed and what info I am allowed to ask about, and other websites/resources for info I can turn to.
I'm going to be passing through Portland on my way to the coast later this week. I'd like to be able to get doctor approval for medical marijuana use, or a medical marijuana card. The only official diagnosis that I have is clinical depression, no AIDS, no cancer, a little undiagnosed non-xray back pain, morning sickness, problems with digestion (I get diarrhea at least 4 times a week when I'm not using marijuana), no MS or muscle spasms problems. Not that I NEED it, but it certainly helps alleviate the nausea, thoughts of suicide, aids in digestion TONS, and allows me to sleep much better than I normally do, helps with anxiety and obsessive compulsive thought patterns, and allows me to be far less agitated in general. Not that I need to convince any of you about this.
I need to know if Oregon medical marijuana law would allow me to obtain a prescription or other doctor approval for marijuana usage, and if using marijuana without doctor approval in the past will preclude me from qualifying. I know not every state is like California where they hand out magazines with page after page of cut and dry "we will prescribe you no matter what" advertisements. At the same time, I know I might still be able to obtain doctor approval quite easily, in spite of more restrictive laws on the books here.
I would think it's not alright to ask for specific doctor contact info, so at this point if the thread gets closed, I fully understand. I do have a friend where I currently live, and he will probably be able to steer me in the right direction, since he has medical approval in Oregon himself, and he has said before that it would be possible for me to obtain the same medical approval. I am not looking for a dispensary source on here, I already know that's way out of line.
