Oral Sex and Herpes

My love interest unfortunately had an outbreak that turned out to be herpes a while back. She was the first person I ever gave oral to and she and I enjoyed it, and I overcame any reservations I had about it. Now I'm slightly bummed but am wondering if there's any safe way to still do that. I was thinking saran wrap (no I'm not joking), but I have no idea if that would be effective in preventing transmission. I also kind of feel bad because I may have unintentionally given it to her through the oral sex, but it's sort of impossible to tell. I've never had a genital outbreaks, but as far as cold sores I'm not sure. As far as I can remember I don't think I ever had any.

Lol saran wrap... They make dental dams, br0. You should get tested too imo.

That sounds like a good idea, I have no idea where I'd find something like that tho. As far as testing, my doctor said there was no use since I never had an outbreak and 1/5 people carry some form of the virus.

Oh and I found this...

For safer oral sex, using a condom (for oral sex on a penis) or a dam (for oral sex on a vulva or anus) is still safer than nothing at all. A dam is a thin, square piece of latex that is placed over the clitoris, vulva, or anus. You can also use a non-lubed condom by pulling off the ring and cutting along one side to make a rectangle; or, use a small piece of plastic wrap (preferably non-microwaveable wrap because it is less porous). And just to be clear, herpes can be transmitted by either the giver or receiver of oral sex. It is possible for the person giving oral sex to get herpes if their partner has genital herpes and a sore is active or there is viral shedding. It is also possible for the person giving oral sex to give herpes to their parther, if they have an active herpes sore or viral shedding on their mouth.

Guess I'm not the only who thought of that. :\
