oral morphine, why so much dislike?

Go to any pharmacy in America and ask for an oral syringe. They're free!

(You do mean plug, right?)

Most oral Morphine pills/capsules have time release and anti abuse mechnismes that are very difficult to work around, have low oral/nasal BA's, and IV is dangerous and rarely gives every milligram in the pill. If your someone with even a moderate tolerance to opiates these pill are gonna have to be used rectally or work arcane spoon magic for it to be worth the money or time or veins for most people.

My point being the reason their disliked is their hard to abuse and maintain on. I don't hate oral Morphine myself, I like how 2-3 of the big blues will have me nodding well into noon of the next day even when parichuted. But even though I could get some right now I'd rather save the money for a better deal on opiates, 2-3 morphs cost to much for one night (and the next day) of nods. I suppose if someone got a good deal or had a prescription they might feel different. Or if they knew how to extract the morphine for IV use=D

There is a lot of chatter about Bio availability in this thread and i believe there needs to be clarification:

Morphine Sulfate Bioavailability:

~ 25% (oral); 100% (IV) source

~ The oral bioavailability of Morphine Sulfate is less than 40% and shows large inter-individual variability due to extensive pre-systemic metabolism. source

I believe i have read it is about 30% bioavailable when eaten, 10% when snorted and 100% when IVed. I do not recall reading a plugged bioavailability. I can not locate a source for this.

Not true, in some states you need a prescription. In other states, you should be legally allowed to buy them in a pharmacy but sometimes they won't sell it to you.

do you know if you can in NC ? cause i just moved here from MA ...ill feel real stupid asking for needles and the ask for a scrip..

not sure, but most states you don't need a RX - it's just that a lot of pharmacists are assholes.

Try searching for a needle exchange (I have heard there is one in NC, can't confirm it though), or buying needles online if the pharmacists act like they need a prescription.

mmm i was given oramorph in liquid form 300ml 5ml=10mg i found i need at least 30/40ml just to get were i wanted explained this to doctor he more a less told me thats the best they could do i tell you doctors in uk are so scared of supply opiates/scedule2 drugs was told i was abusing it no i was been honest about my pain it really sucks

I've wondered this myself. I too feel that if the dose from Opioid of choice is accurately converted for Morphine, the high is excellent, and for me preferable. I don't like the fact that I have to take so much of it to get the desired effects, but when I do I love it. I think the biggest reason people don't like Morphine Sulfate, or say they don't, is because they don't take or haven't taken doses that are equipotent to that of their DOC.
