Oral Midazolam Dosing

I understand by conversion charts that 7.5mg Midazolam is roughly like 10mg Diazepam.

So, If I enjoy taking 20mg Diazepam then that would be roughly 15mg Midazolam...

However, I understand it has a low oral BA ( ~35% ). So what I'm wondering is if these conversion charts account for the BA of benzos or not?

If not, then at ~35% BA would I have to take ~43mg Midazolam to actually equate to feeling like 20mg Diazepam? (43mg * 0.35 = ~15mg)

Also, what about sublingual admin and insufflation of Midazolam? How is the BA there? Haven't found much info on it...

Thanks

EDIT: I have found that the BA of Midazolam intranasally is ~55% and >68% sublingually.

I will try it sublingually I suppose then, as I do not IV. Still looking for an answer regarding the oral dosage with the BA kept in mind. I guess I would have to take 3 15mg if taken orally to get a decent effect?

Midazolam is just another overrated Benzo (IMO) Your better off sticking to Diazepam - a better all-rounder.

Yes they are both benzos.
But one is a hypnotic(midazolam) and the other a tranquillizer(diazepam).
Also, the half lives are very different. (Midazolam short - Diazepam long).
IME midazolam was awesome, but very amnesic(grammer?), 15mg was enough in the beginning, but I often woke up the next day to find that I had taken a lot more without remembering when or why.
Diazepam is nice also, but IME doesn't "pack a punch" like midazolam does and is nowhere near as strong.
So to answer OP's question...15mg orally would be enough for you to guage its strength.
Obviously there shouldn't be any other drugs in your system when you do decide to test it as you won't get a good "read" on midazolam in those situations.

Yes conversion charts account for the bioavailability, they would be pretty useless if they didn't :). However, they only apply to the listed route of administration, normally oral. Plus, conversion charts are only a very rough guide, and are usually measuring a specific effect like anxiolysis or anti-convulsant effects. Conversions also don't account for individual differences in your metabolism or the way specific drugs effect you, or incomplete cross tolerance between drug to drug. In general it's best to try less than what's recommended by a conversion chart when trying a new drug for the first time.

Midazolam BAs vary greatly from person to person. Looking at different studies, I have seen the oral BA listed as anywhere from 25% to 75% and the sublingual BA as anywhere from 60% to 100%.

The conversion chart I am looking at says 20mg oral diazepam is roughly equal to between 14-30mg of oral midazolam, but that diazepam lasts longer.

If you are going to take the midazolam sublingually I would suggest taking less than that.

I would suggest starting with 10-15mg orally or maybe 4-8mg sublingually.

I must say that I was disappointed with midazolam the first several times I did it. I had some nice experiences later on but it was not better than triazolam, temazepam, nitrazepam, lormetazepam, flunitrazepam and several other hypnotics. I rank diazepam above it.

Diazepam is my all time favourite benzo for sure. And I've tried alprazolam, lorazepam, clonazepam, temazepam, and nitrazepam.

I actually experienced legitimate euphoria with temazepam, not just the anxiolytic-relaxation "euphoria" that comes with benzos. So I am hoping for midazolam to be similar to that.

Will try half of a 15mg pill sublingually in a few days. Thanks to all responses.

No need to go the sublingual route with midazolam.
Their onset is so quick when taken orally.
Also remember that they are a "knock out" benzo, so any euphoria would be extremely short lived and you probably won't remember much about it when you do wake up.
I'm taking a chance saying this, but if you are going to try it then take the whole pill. I say this because it seems that you have experience with other benzos and half a tablet might just make you want to redose which could lead to you taking far more than 15mg at the end of the day.
Just take the whole tablet in a safe setting and you'll get the answers you are looking for, and if possible get a friend to be there to see that you don't do anything that can be harmful when under the influence, as your subconscious mind will be in control and you will do anything that comes into your mind, ie. all ideas are good, even if they are very dangerous to a conscious mind set.

Diazepam being my favorite and experiencing genuine euphoria with temazepam, it sounds like we have similar taste in benzos. It would be rad if you reported back on your midazolam expirience. I've been wanting to try it for a minute. May have had it in anesthesia for all I know?...

Temazepam is the best hands down! A study confirmed that triazolam and temazepam had the highest self-administration rates among all benzos.
