I recently acquired 2 300ml bottles of oral solution ketamine 50mg/5ml, this stuff was prescribed to someone who I dont know or I would ask them, do any of you know what it is likely to be prescribed for?

I was watching a program about hospitals yesterday, some poor kid, looked about 5 years old, had split his wig open quite badly. It required some serious stiches to patch him back up, they ummed and arrred about local Vs general anesthetic for a bit as it was going to be quite traumatic for the little guy...

I was feeling sorry for the kid until the doc decided on IV ketamine, the lucky little shit... ;)

Its quite the tool for those situations though, he really didnt give a toss that someone was going to work on his forehead with a needle and thread..

Ketamine <3..... Come back soon please

Haha... when this kid was coming round he said "I feel all wobbly mom"..... closest I've come to a wobble lately is standing up to quickly...

Saw a guy who had been in a car crash - yelling in pain, loaded him with Ket to fix his arm. Stop yelling, doctors straightened out his arm etc - when he came around the thought he'd only been in hospital 10 mins (was 2 hours later). He looked at his arm and asked how had that happened :D The look of puzzlement on his face was priceless.

when you get sedated at the dentist they give you a mix that includes K and alprazalom(or some kind of benzo as well as a PK and possible something else (i went a couple of years ago and asked what they used but as they couldnt get a vein I missed out (I think the idea of using K was its disassociate effect) and ended up smoking a big tray ,dropping 2 blues a nd a pint and had a floaty visit a week later at my normal dentist - A mate of mine who suffered from multiple illnesses and was in constant pain swore that the only thing that killed all the pain was K im'd. but he ws taking Herculian amounts.

Mostly these days it's Midazolam used for sedation by dentists - never heard of K being used, though it might have been in the past.

this was a dentist for people who are phobic - like me , but getting better now i self medicate.
