oral hash

Sure heat kills a lot of bacteria man, I wasn't refering to anything else. What this "bad stuff" you're talking about anyway? Do you just eat your fruit/vegetables before washing it? Do you suppose the hash you get is any cleaner?

Frying it makes sense as you'd kill off most of the bacteria that might cause you harm.

Bomboclat and Chainer should know better. Pull that tape worm out of your ass man ;)

There's a big fucking difference between ingesting and smoking and how it could affect your body. Try eating some tobacco man, see how that goes.

Jesus buddy, take a bong rip and chill out, I was joking.

I laughed at that 'pull a tape worm out of your ass' haha, I don't even understand but I like the insult.

Anyway, hash is an amazing extract. if it's made right, which, I assume it is, there aren't going to be much of anything concerning impurities. To even do the extract, you have to be using a solution that will kill most bacteria anyway. And heat is not going to do shit when you smoke it. it's entering your lungs. Think mold -- you still can't smoke that shit, you still can't cook it out. Your example of tabaccy doesn't make any sense because it's the grown product of a plant, we're talking about an extract here that, if done right, is going to be as clean as say, green dragon, or even oil extracts.

I'm not sure if you've ever made hash before, or bought whipped hash (with the terps whipped out) from a dispensary, but that shit is pretty damn clean. Cleaner then actual bud. Correct me if I am wrong, but the temp has to be at 212 degrees (boiling water) to kill most bacteria. No oil extract should be anywhere CLOSE to that temperature.

Anyway I'm no chemist but I think you're wrong ;) I've been wrong in the past though... but please tell me where you got that insult, I nearly spit out a mouthful of bourbon.

The tabaccy example was sufficent because it is processed as is hash. I live in the land of "Midnight Express" so I know a thing or two about the 'shish.

Depending where the O.P is from, the stuff in the hash and storing conditions could vary. Plus you should consider that the hash he gets is most probably imported (most hash from the 60's to 90's in the U.S, particularly NYC was nearly all imported).

What I'm arguing is, is that cooking the hash is a good idea because not all of us get it from a "dispensary". I for one, would never eat it without cooking it. To be perfectly honest I wouldn't eat it unless it was from a dispensary or I made it myself.

I thought BL was about HR, I was just putting in my 2 cents.

PS: I'm glad you liked the insult lmao, I remembered a song long ago from my teenage years where this dude was screaming "pull that tapeworm out of your ass" (system of a down if I'm not mistaken, terrible stuff, probably worse than tape worms). I was reminded about all the nasty stuff you can get from bad food etc. so there you go ;)

It is all about HR, I suppose it's best to know your product and act accordingly. I've never ingested cannabis or extracts that have made me sick, but I could be getting cleaner products, and generally i had acquired my hash through dispensaries. I know I've heard some pretty horrible first-hand accounts over the years from over in the U.K. about their hash situation... So hey, yeah it won't hurt. If you're getting bad hash, you can easily refine it, too. We've got a kick-ass thread about it in our directory, [mega] extracts thread. Pretty easy stuff. Just an FYI to anyone who thinks they are getting tainted hash. Some of that soapbar though, i wouldn't touch with a long, long pole.

And yeah, as a former System of a Down fan, it probably is worse than tape worms. hahaha

Sorry Bomblocat and Chainer if I came across as a bit harsh btw, wasn't my intention. I have been up for way too long without some herbal goodness. I could do with a bit of hash myself. Thanks for refering us to the Mega thread.

Yes the soapbar thing sounds terrible, although I'm pretty sure this is true for most of the hash that circulates Europe, Holland being an exception.

You make good points, I guess I didnt see it in that way. I was just poking fun.
Cheers.

I've been eating a lot of hash recently. I just take the hash, crumble it fine (usually blonde hash), then just heat up oil and pour the oil over the hash in a shot glass or whatever and stir it in well, then drink it with some coffee or whatever. Works great, I usually use around .3-.5 grams.

Seems like the light heating of mixing it with hot oil is good enough to decarboxylate to me, but when I first started I'd pour the oil into very hot coffee and let it cool before I drank it to keep the hash hot a little longer. I have eaten hash without cooking it before, and it works much better than just eating straight bud, but heating it certainly increases how effective it is by a lot.

I don't think you can eat straight bud man. A friend of mine swears by coconut oil when cooking ;)

It's pretty established here that while you CAN eat straight bud, it's a *HUGE* waste of your shit. So easy to make even a firecracker. No reason to eat the plant raw. Coconut oil works very well, I've used it in the past to make brownies when I was out of regular cooking oils.

Which regular cooking oils? Do you normally bake your stuff via Budder?

I've never really had anything that works as good as coconut oil, as it's very high in saturated fat.

Why do you prefer other cooking oils? Is it the taste, or do you think it doesn't work as well?

What Chainer said- you can eat straight bud but it doesn't work very well. Eating straight hash works much better than bud, with uncooked bud you probably need 3-5 times more weed or even more for the same effect (I don't make a habit out of munching buds so I don't know exactly). Eating more than a gram of hash raw will get you high, when it's heated the dose is more like half a gram. I've definitely gotten very very high after eating a large chunk of hash before.

I've never tried this but I recall someone saying that decarboxylation is all that is required to increase effectiveness of eating bud. That is, if you pop your buds in the oven at 150 or 200 F for 10-20 min. you should be able to just eat them to good effect, although it'll probably not absorb as fast as if they were in a fat. I've always used some kind of oil.

I swear by coconut oil when cooking myself, it's what I almost always use for edibles. Palm oil and butter are also high fat. I like coconut oil because it's probably the least gross oil to just drink straight and the highest fat oil I know of. I've used olive, canola, butter and palm oil too, any work fine. The main point of cooking is to get the THCA to decarboxylate to THC. The fat is a matter of making the drugs absorb faster. At least, that's my understanding of the process.
