If someone want a shorter oral DMT trip one can always delay taking DMT after the MAOI so that the MAOI action settles down earlier into the DMT trip, correct?
In theory yes but trying to time dis-inhibition of MAO would be a bit dicey I'd say. My understanding is that Syrian Rue is a reversible MAO Inhibitor so they'll bind to the MAO, preventing them from oxidising DMT, then release them a while later. Trying to judge a particular degree of level of inhibition would be very difficult, particularly if you've no prior experiene of how your body's metabolism works with MAO/MAOIs. Probably easier would be to chose the dose of DMT to try to control the strength of the trip.

Never got anywhere near 6 hours druid. I find the full psychedelic effects of oral DMT last 60-90 minutes tops. That's using DMT freebase mixed with cola and 300mg of moclobemide.
How much DMT if you don't mind me asking?
I've had experiences lasting about 6 hours on 200-250mg, though by no means all of it at the peak, a lot of that is coming down & integrating the experience, I still consider that part of the whole Ayahuasca experience, though a lot of it is more mental than visual.
I think the effects vary, I don't usually get much nausea, though purging can be a part of the experience I don't associate that with any nausea.
I don't tend to get great visual experiences with pharmahuasca, at least not OEVs, but do get strong CEV and inner & visions, jungle sceans, animals I take to have special significance as spirits & on one occasion encountering my inner shadow-self (in the Jungian sense). Thinking about it I think that most of the Aya/Pharmauasca visuals have been somewhat dark or subdued, rather than bright bright whirly colours & the like. It's been more the message for me than the presentation. Not meaning to put your experiences down Ismene, I just think Ayahuasca is an incredibly powerful medicine and treats everyone somewhat differently depending on what they need & want at that time.
I find Aya/Pharmahuasca to be not at all an easy or always comfortable experience, some of my most valuable experiences have been very uncomfortable, but it can be incredibly useful & healing provided you go into it with your eyes and heart open.
