Has anyone experienced increased anxiety from oral contraceptives?

I've been on sprintec 28 for about 2 years. I talked to my GYN about the anxiety I'd get prior to my period, and she said I should skip the sugar pills and just take the new pack containing active pills straight through. She figured that the hormones constantly being there would help.

I've done this for 3 months. I feel like my anxiety has gotten far worse, especially when I'm due for my period. I'm also breaking out on my face and back.

Does anyone have experience with this? I'm scheduling an appointment with my GYN cause I can't take it anymore.

I don't have any experience with this (I'm a guy) but I think going back to the sugar pills, or trying another oral contraceptive may help.
Some people just can't take those pills, because they can exacerbate mental disorders... Have you suffered from anxiety before you started taking sprintec?
Have you considered other contraceptives ? Like IUDs ?

I've had anxiety before taking the sprintec, but my anxiety has gotten worse it seems since I started it.

If I'm not mistaken, I think IUD can only be used for women who have given birth before, and I have not. Maybe one day but definitely not now. Perhaps the nuva ring may help. I have PMDD too, so I'm not sure if it is linked to that. It's so frustrating

According to this, drospinenone can treat PMDD. It's an oral contraceptive too, so you'll be hitting two birds with one stone.
You should definitely tell your gyn about it.
