Opium

That black tarry shit is incense. A company that sells it advertises in High Times Magazine.
If you think you have real opium, and I doubt that you do, test it out for real. Smoke down a half gram and you should nod.

Whats up I thought opium was 90% morphine 10% codeine and like .1% thebaine...or is that just the composition of the opium alkaloids and the percentage in "opium" is lower..or am I just full of shit?
 
Nah. Opium is 10 to 20% morphine. Codeine is something like 0.5%.

90% morphine? I would like to get some of those seeds! A garden of plants and I would have like an ounce of morphine!
Sadly the number is a lot lower, 10% is generous, 20%? I have not heard of any plants producing that much - Effigy - what type of poppies produce that high a ratio of morphine?

Idont really know where I got that info. It's just somethng I picked up along theway I guess. Hens and Chicks are known for the higheest purity of opium so I guess they could possibly put out a 20% morphine product.
I found this in a quick web search: http://www.undcp.org/bulletin/bulletin_1956-01-01_4_page006.html From their data, and I have no idea of the type of pods they were using, 20% doesnt seem comlpetely impossible. I noticed one of their readings came out to 18.1% morphine. 20% does seem rare though. 10%, from their data, doesnt seem to be a generous amount of morphine though. Average looks to about 13%.

Hm, several times I have been sold what I beleived to be opium. It smelled really good, it looked really good, and it even tasted REALLY good, which was exactly like it smelled, like sweet flowers. The many times I smoked it I was conviced it was real opium--the many times I smoked it I also smoked it on top of pot. Oh I got fried from it alright, until I tried smoking some of it straight. It didn't do a damn thing except give me a soar throat. It tasted so good though I thought for sure it had to be opium. It even burned up into a nice little chunk of ash; didn't just melt and rock up like the fake crap. So do you think that is the stuff they sell in high times? Black O or herbal opium or wtf they call it. Tastes real pretty but the effect is not there. Also, does REAL opium tastes like it smells? And does the fake crap pretty much entirely mimic opium except for effect? Or maybe I just got some crappy opium...
 
Well, I guess I will just have to wait to experience opium next fall then, when my friend harvests his crop of persian whites. But in the mean time, I will have to feed my need with dried pods. Poppy pods do make a very PRETTY arrangement.
 
I hear you can make (very) crude heroin by simply refluxing opium in acetic anhydride. The way the pros do it, though, is to extract the morphine first (a simple process), then reflux it in acetic anhydride. Sounds easy, but it takes a *lot* of opium to make even a small amount of heroin, and its unlikely that Joe Blow could ever harvest enough O to make it. Acetic anhydride is also strictly controlled.
 
oh, what kind of pipe cna i smoke the opium out of? can i just mix it with some weed and smoke it?

I think more needs to be considered in this. What if you already have an opiate tolerence? I don't think 2 nice hits is gonna effect someone who shoots manteca everyday. When I was going through WD , i smoked some and it did reduce the effect of the withdrawl , but lasted very shortly.
more detail is needed for the "black tar" what happends when you break the tar apart?? Can you see any plant material left over in the opium??? There has to be a more detailed way of proving its opium because smoking it , isn't always gonna solve the question.

min- I've converted opium using AA hundreds of times, it's a GREAT HIGH, done properly it's far from crude.
It only takes maybe 7 decent crowns to get a good taste, from start to finish the process takes about 45 minutes (thats icluding bleeding ,with a bit of practice).IMO thats well worth it if you can get your hands on the AA.

I've heard from time to time that opium - and possibly other opiates anbd opioids - far from degenerate when getting old, instead increases not only in strenght but in quality of high too. Does anybody know? The absolutely best feeling of my life I got from ketobemidone pills that was more than 5 years after "last date", and fresh pills was only as good as heroin. I remember that the high lasted 7 hours and that it left you with an incredible speed. We hadn't even injected - only eaten them! In a couple of minutes we went from heavenly bliss to hell and started fighting each other out of despair. Exactly the same thing happened all 3 times we took them. None of us was even remotely addicted physically, but all the times I tried heroin without being hooked, the high came down much more gentle.
I once read that the famous Lady Mosley (Diana Mitford) was given a weak opium pill in jail, and because of it's being so old, it almost killed her with it's strength. Also I have read that the opium that is used as money in the East Asia, has it's advantages due to the fact that opium is indestructable by time. This does not coprroborate the often heard quote that opium or morphine is rapidly destroyed.

A pipe?
A water pipe?
Anyplaces where I can buy made for opium smoking pipes?
