SWIM is entirely a new member, as this burning question that's needing some experienced opinions has been bouncing around in swim's mind for a while. Recently a crop of about 80 sq feet of papaver somniferum has been planted....in front of swims house. (yes, yes, go on, its a bad pace for it, but simply is the only option as of now....truly.) In this state, cultivation is completely legal... until harvest time. (and swim has about 1'' tall seedlings at the moment!, will be thinning out soon). Getting to the question though; is it really worth it to score and collect multiple times over multiple days, or will one collection of the latex be sufficient? Keep in mind, that the yield of sap and alkaloid content would theoretically drop with each "session" and, of course, one must do this under the cover of darkness and for the shortest time possible, as they are near the street. The plan, as of now, is to simply cut down all plants, bring indoors, score once, collect, and use whats left after the pods have dried for tea. The tea would be stronger if made after only one scoring session correct? Also, swim assumes that the "wastefulness" factor would be much lower if eaten in the form of well extracted tea, than smoking? Any suggestions on these thoughts?
thanks
