Opium Availability

[What was it?]

Has anybody come across opium either in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne?
Also, is it more commonly available in certain communities (i.e Chinese) or just available ever now and then at your friendly local smack dealer? Personally never come across it here....unlike in Laos.

If anybody has come across it, how was the quality and effect (compared to let's say oxys, H, M, DHC and codeine)?

I have come across real opium (not just a pot rez ball someone's trying to scoff off to people) at a music festival way off in remote Maine, USA

I've never encountered it in Aus, only H, though I'm sure there is bound to be some circulating in tiny quantities in the right circles just like anything else. For effects compared to more readily available opiates you might want to check out the Other Drugs forum?
