Since beginning Opioids and having experienced withdrawl numerous times, it puts the issue of mental health and depression in particular into an entirely different perspective.
I began using opioids, post/op and one of the things I began noticing was that my spatial thinking and concentration were much more acute.. In addition to that people would tell me I looked good.
I'm not talking about being high, what I'm talking about here is being functional.
Prior to this episode, my viewpoint on people who suffer from depression or other varieties of brain chemistry related disorders, was that they lacked willpower...
No backbone.
As I'm sure any addict will tell you, when you stop taking the meds and begin W/Ds, the inverse becomes true. What cognitive abilities I had gained while using, vanished threefold when I stopped using.

Running short of time - must cut this short

Food for thought... Be back - Thx

Basically what I gather is you're suggesting treating opioid addiction or the consequences of opioid addiction with opioids.

This is already done with things like methadone or suboxone maintenance.

I think the whole point is to try and get away from having to go down that road and striving to learn to use the natural coping abilities we have.

I don't see a question here. Also there are tons of threads discussing the use of opiates as antidepressants so if you want to look into that and/or discuss it further then search those key words.

For those reasons I'm closing this.
