(buprenorphine and naloxone- Opiod treatment)

I recently stopped using dope and started Suboxone. Do you get withdrawl symptoms from subs, how bad are they? I plan to eventually ween off all together. Thanks

Yes you get withdrawals and with their longer halflife it lasts for a long time. Its been two months my body still aches from that shit. But its amazing at stopping cravings when you first get off dope. My advice for best results from using sub do the short term treatment. Do not stay on that shit for like six months believe me when you stop taking it your gonna thank me :) good luck. My doctors both kept me on longer than six months each time and it was terrible....

Im not a doctor, so consult him. This is just my experience and opinion. :)

I agree with the short term sub treatment, I went from 8mg a day to 4 a day to 2 a day in five days then stopped. I then went into sub withdrawal for maybe 12-18 hours but it was very bearable. However I was in an inpatient program and I'm not going to lie, if I had to option to hit up a dealer and pick up, I probably would have during that time. No matter how you do it, quitting opiates is going to take some serious mental toughness, so I recommend just getting off the subs as quick as you think you can.

If I were you, I would have already asked these questions to my doctor before starting! Its very important to know these things! But, you did come to the right place to learn :) I, too, suggest you read the Suboxone Megathread that NT so kindly posted above! It literally covers everything you could want to know! It thouroughly explains withdrawals, etc! My opinion? I love Suboxone! When used properly, it is such a great tool in dealing with addiction. You need to discuss an exact maintenance plan with your doctor and definitely ask him about tapering. That is so important! Good luck! Best wishes to you with your Suboxone treatment!

Do a long taper, get to .25 for a week, then .25 every other day. Then stop, if you start to feel like shit take .12 you will get it from there. Suboxone is the best thing that ever happing to me. You will know wene your ready, good luck.
