First any help is greatly appriciated.

I was taking 10-20mg of valium a day for about 9 months abd stopped cold turkey. Its been 7 days and im now w/din from benzos...
My question is will oxy or hydro help with w/d symptons.
Thanks in advance

Side note. Verrrry hard to find info on this as searching with tge word opiate or oxy or vic overrides the search engine and brings up opiate related info not benzo info(mostly info on how benzos are used for opiate w/d

Sry if this is wrong spot for my thread. It seemd the most appropriate

Yes i understand im trading fire for fire. But i feel dependency wont occur with only a weeks use

Can you get more access to valium? stopping cold turkey like that is extremly dangerous. I would go see a doctor to do a real tapper..

How do you feel?

If you have no access to benzos to tapper, opiates would be my 2nd option, although get some more valium to tapper.

Definitely see a Dr. Or go to detox. Your life isn't worth avoiding telling Dr. Ur dependant and having a seizure as a result. The dose ur on isn't outrageous but its certainly enough to cause problems, maybe not seizures but definitely some misery.

No. I was purchasing them off tge street. My dad has a few librium. Ive read it bad and dangerous to ct but it happened. I feel since im on day2 restartin benzos wood b pointless. Ive been thru opiate wd and had bad experience tapering with suboxone aka tge worst opiate ever.
I feel fucked in the head. Hot cold sweats, when i hit tge cold part i sonetimes tremor or spasm, seems to b goin away it happened on day1. My skin is all like itchy and hot, muscle feel like tgere on fire. No apetite. Feel like im gonna puke w/o gettin near to accually doing it. And my mouth is waterin like a biiitch

Thank for tge help

I took 10mg of oxy and it seems to have subsides almost all of tge symptons or lessend them

Alot of people are saying go to a doctor but not WHY. I can taper..i kno math. So if i have benzo to do so with. Why see a doc? I dont have benzo and i dont plan to taper

well..

the best option is to see a physician, obviously.
and/or tapering with diazepam or some other benzo..

if neither of these were an option, i'd definitely use
an opiate for a few days to get over the hump of it.

it's probably not the best idea.
you should be and seem to be aware of the
addiction issues that plague opiate/opiod users.
(astonishingly higher than benzos)

that being said..just to ease the physical and
emotional discomforts of benzo w/d..
some low dose opiate helps a great deal.

Thank you. Yes it wood be low doses, i was addicted to oxy for about 4 years so i dont rly ever over due it with pain meds. Wish i cooda have gottem sum answers b4 i decided fk it im takin it.

But as far as tapering. People normally take benzos on day 2 or 3 of wd from ct?(to start a taper) That doesnt seem smart to reintroduce it( i kno doin it weong w opiates will cause worse wd or paw

the thing is ..
you're w/d'ing from diazepam.. which stays in your body f.o.r.e.v.e.r.
so full w/d doesn't even start, in my experience, until day 3.
when you're on a long acting benzo like diazepam or clonazepam..
you can begin a taper safely w/in three days of last dosing.
(short acting benzos like alprazolam need handled differently)

with your low dose habit..you could taper safely by beginning to skip days,
honestly..
followed by reducing your mg.

expect arguments to follow. this is all personal experience..
people like to argue about half-lives around here. ;)

I know a lot of people are saying go to a doctor to detox, and I do agree that you should probably go see a doctor since 20mg of valium a day is a decent amount.
However, I was taking 5mg of klonopin a day for 2 years, and when I stopped cold turkey I didn't even notice any withdrawals. When I was on heroin for a year or two, the W/D from that was worse than getting my finger nails ripped off.
My advice to you is that if you have no opiate tolerance, use oxy or hydro when you feel the withdrawals, and I guarantee you'll forget about your benzo withdrawals pretty quickly.

If your last dose was 8 days ago, I would advise you to either use opiates to get over it, or use opiates and a TINY bit of your benzos to get over it. Either way you're good but why prolong it if you've been 8 days without it? Get it over with and live your life.

Thank you all. U can close.
Again information on if opiates help ease symptoms of benzo wd is hard to find.

Opiates share some of the sedating qualities of benzos but work on different brain systems AFAIK (endorphins vs. GABA). Quitting benzos cold turkey is HIGHLY dangerous and should not be attempted without a doctor's supervision.

Short answer: opiates may relieve some of the symptoms of withdrawal but probably won't prevent the potentially serious ones (seizures, etc).

Was seeking information on if it wood ease symptOns of wd. Not fix the dependancy problem.

Can u explain WHY i should see a doctor?( besides eyes to watch me 4 seizers)

Hey you never know how you might respond to quickly taking your body off of the pills you've been taking for a while. There are a lot of withdrawal horror stories of people dying and whatnot. Myself, I would just forget about it, use some opi's to relax (and get a much better high than any benzo) and just forget about it.

What people are trying to say is this, "Quitting valium(or any benzo) cold turkey is dangerous".
"Abrupt termination of treatment will be accompanied by withdrawal symptoms. These may consist of headaches, muscle pain, extreme anxiety, tension, restlessness, confusion and irritability. In severe cases the following symptoms may occur: derealisation, depersonalisation, hyperacusis, numbness and tingling of extremities, hypersensitivity to light, noise and physical contact, hallucinations or epileptic seizures."

Click here for the source of the above statement

The only way to quit benzos safely is to taper off them. There are no short-cuts.

Also don't look for a reason to start taking opiates again.

In my experience, using opiates during benzo withdrawal does not help whatsoever with anything.

They really helped me. Bein on opiates heats u up, so that eliminated my cold/hot. Also it allows me to sleep. i havent been eating(zerrooo apetit) but the digestion of a pill in an empty stomache restarts tge hungry for me. Weed works for this too. opiates and oxy in perticular is my drug of choice so i feel im also gettin a mental/placebo high cuz im giving my brian "wat it want"
