Opiates vs Benzos for social anxiety

In terms of everyday use, I have found benzos to be great for keeping social anxiety at bay, however I can't help but feel that Oxycodone (only opiate I have tried) is vastly superior to benzos for "one off" type social situations, like a first date, or moving into a college dorm. I guess that Xanax is the most comparable benzo to Oxy, as it kicks in fast and leaves quickly. I find Oxy to be far superior to Xanax for destroying social anxiety, although Oxy is inferior for extreme anxiety situations such as fear of flying. Opiates seem to not only remove anxiety, but also boost my social skills dramatically, wheras benzos make me less social if anything. Anyway, what is the general consensus on this? I would defnitely pick 20mg of crushed Oxy over 2mg of Xanax for an anxiety provoking social event. What are other opiates like for beating down social anxiety? Do you find that opiates provide a greater level of anxiolytic effects than benzos?
 
Benzos either make me whacked out if my mind or a total bitch. Ive found high doses of tramadol (synthetic opiate) helps with social anxiety they make u hyper and talkative
 
I find that opiates most definitely ease my social anxiety.... Probably a good reason as to why I use them. But in comparison to benzos.. hmmm. That's a tough decision, cause I enjoy that benzos take the edge off, but I find that they make me insanely forgetful.
 
Benzos are better for anxiety
Take .5-1 mg of Xanax and you will be able to function at full ability but also have reduced anxiety
 
Yes it's true opiates are excellent at eliminating social anxiety but you can't be on them 24/7 for the rest of your life. Also I don't know about you but when I come off them my anxiety goes through the roof for a week or two. Not really worth it because of rebound anxiety, but if you've been experiencing social anxiety all your life it is worth the come down just to get for once a little access to who you really are and be able to express yourself.

Benzos do nothing for my anxiety, I suspect since the cause is more psychological than biological. Which makes sense people who have gone through trauma love opiates.
 
Opiates seem to help me better with ANXIETY - They relax me more and tend to make me more social - granted I don't take a ton. Opiate pills seem to help more. I've been on every benzo and I gain such a tolerance that I have to keep switching. They work at first but then loose their effect. Benzos also tend to make me just sleepy.
 
I think that kratom is pretty good for mild social anxiety.

Benzodiazepines are effective but they have the unfortunate ability to make me mentally slow, even at therapeutic doses.

in high school me and my friend decided to do some percs before school, we had a math test and (i, at least, dunno about him) had studied for it. The percocets kicked in and i was in a buzz as i walked in to class.
IME... opiates block the part of your brain responsible for math haha
 
^ hahaha did the same thing in 7th grade when i just started getting into drugs i had an older friend i believe she was 15 she told me to take some pill and i did i just that there in math class dumb as fuck i kept falling asleep my teacher started yelling at me and i fell asleep while she was yelling at me i couldn't even write i kept writing everything backwards i will never as long as i live forget the day little me almost got busted
 
Benzos.
I have a low opi tolerance so usually don't like to move too much, don't really feel like hanging around with people. I like a low dose of kratom for that kind of things, used to go to biology class on kratom and i did very well, perfect for doing group work and presentations.

In my experience benzos have always erased my anxiety for a time. I'm usually not good with hanging out in large groups of people but on a few mg of Xanax or Klonopin I command people's attention and make new friends. Sober me just sits in the corner quietly. I never go to social gatherings or important social events without them.

Opiates tend to just put me on my ass and I'm even less social. The first time I tried them I just sat on my couch and ate a whole bag of chips while my mom was trying to have a conversation with me. I don't think I responded to her a single time...
 
I don't recommend using heroin for social anxiety you'll get addicted quicker then u think. Try seeing a dr benzo withdrawal can kill u. Tell him u have severe social anxiety and panic attacks if u don't have prior drug problems on your records and your over 18 u shouldn't have a problem getting some anxiety medicine prescribed.
 
From late 2007 to early 2012 I was prescribed Xanax 1mg 3x daily, for Social Anxiety Disorder. And, Zoloft for Major depression/SAD ever since (150mg in the morning now, down from 225mg) 2007 as well. It was a Godsend for me until about 2010. After 2010, Xanax stopping working for my anxiety. Ever since late 2011, I've been seeing a new Psychiatrist. He explained to me that how Benzos are causing early age dementia, from the mid to late 30's (I'm 25). So, he suggested that I try to ween off the Benzos, which I did. I went from Xanax to Klonopin, and weened down from 2mg-1mg-0.5mg-0.25mg, then off. Anyway, I strongly suggest that you use a Benzo (Xanax or Ativan) for up to 3-4yrs max. Now, I feel that I've grown out of most of my anxiety, so that is just fine for me lol. I do take 10mg Oxycodone 3x daily for Crohn's Disease, muscle pains, joint pains, back pains, and moderate-severe leg pain, from a car accident I was in during Feb. 2014. I broke both my left tibia and fibula, and have a rod from my knee to my ankle, with 2 screws at the knee and 2 screws at the ankle. BUT, I try my hardest to not abuse my medication, as I need it, and w/d SUCKS LOL.
 
Opiates give more of a body high which puts me in a great mood, whereas benzo just give me the idgaf attitude. I'll take opiates over benzos most times, anxiogenic social situations? Probably. When I have a good body high going its hard for me to be anxious.
 
Benzos hands down (Valium to be exact) Though I do not condone the use of benzos or opies to treat any natural emotions like "social anxiety" as this can lead to addiction and other health problems.

Opies make me wanna be alone in my utopia-esque haze though Tramadol in particular will have me being the nicest guy and I become very smooth talking, up and polite.

But opies will make me look too fucking high to be in a social situation plus I'd be fuckin' noddin' out mid-convo and that's NOT a good look for the ladies mayn.
