Opiates: (specifically hydrocodone) how did you find your ceiling dosage?

Currently 25mg of hydrocodone feels quite good, but after experiencing IV Dilaudid in the hospital, it showed me just what opiates are capable of.
I know I can't get the same feeling out of oral hydro, but I'm feeling greedy and am curious how much I can get out of this drug without going overboard! (keeping apap at bay of course)

I'll probably increase the dose by 5mg (I only take it once a week).

I know everyone is different, but what are some of your experiences approaching your "ceiling" where the dose has gone past the sweet spot? did one or more normal side effect get more pronounced? or did a new one suddenly appear? was it slightly uncomfortable or a scary experience?

A ceiling dose is defined as the maximum absorbency for the chemical in a body. Hydrocodone will kill you before you find the dose where there's no difference from increasing.

Personal dosing is highly subjective, and not really something we can tell you what to do: I had a friend OD from 60mg of Roxycodone IR and obviously had to go to the hospital, and he wasn't even naive to opiates (he'd taken oxycodone quite a few times before this). On the other hand, my first pill encounter was with an OC80, and I did the entire thing in 2 lines, and didn't even catch a buzz so to speak. I was just numbed, and it even muted the marijuana that I smoked to try to salvage the evening. Another individual's tolerance / ability to take a certain amount will have no bearing on how much your body can handle before it says enough is enough.

Exactly!

My brother & cousin back in the day tried the OC 80's when they were super cheap, anyway, they both popped one each for their 1st time & they were high but if I would have done the same thing, I would definitely had overdosed........

Everyones body is different & there is no ceiling with hydrocodone...........

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough in my post.

I know everyone is different and everyone will have a different dose that was too much--I was curious in hearing how different people knew they had gone over their personal limit (I think we all have been there with alcohol, but it is not something I've experienced with opiates).

Its really overwhelming & something I do not like experiencing.........my first couple of times were like this with oxycodone. Since I have a very low tolerance, I was nodding with 5mgs of oxy & didnt like it at all.

So you want to know how much it blows to OD?

Probably a lot, I'd wager a guess... Seeing the condition two kids were in at the end of a party (well, they ended it...) having OD'd from snorting / smoking heroin, I'd say it's entirely dysphoric at best.
