Opiates: Plugged VS Intravenous

Hey guys, i got a question today, and i may need some help to give correct advice. He would like to keep it private, so i will be asking for him..

if you have oxycodone (30mg), and you have 2 types of syringes. Oral Syringe, and a regular IV Syringe.

Which ROA would be best for oxycodone, plugged or IV.

Looking for duration, how long it will last. and also how high it will get the individual. he hasnt experienced IV with oxy (neither have i), or plugged oxy. i told him that i know that oxycodone PLUGGED, works with great results, and it lasts a pretty good while.. his concern is that he will IV the oxy, and he will be high for a short period of time, vs the plug, where he will be high for an hour or so.

any advice quickly would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance for your help!

Since oxycodone oral B.A. is better than nasal I would assume it is also better oral than rectal. Of course rectal will give more of a rush and shorter duration than eating them. As for IV it is %100 bioavailability so approximately double nasal and slightly stronger than oral but duration will be significantly shortened and concentration of the effects much greater.

So in summary it depends what your friend wants. Eating them for long and medium high; plugging/snorting for medium length and initially more acute high (overall weaker though); IVing for shortest but very strong high.

There is no right answer.
 
ok thats what i figured, except im sure that rectal b/a is higher (slightly) than oral, and definitely higher than insufflation. that is taken from personal experience and opinion, I myself have noticed that plugged opiates are longer lasting, and slightly more powerful than oral.
i think it goes:
IV->PLUG->ORAL (in terms of Strength)
PLUG->ORAL->IV (in terms of Duration)

Perhaps you notice the subjective high for a longer period of time, but oral probably lasts longer and has more of the total drug get into your system over that longer period of time. In effect AUC (area under the curve) would be greater for oral but peak concentration and time near it might be higher for plugging.

The only reason to plug it is for the rush, if you want to get the most for your buck, eat them. I realize that I can't control anything you do, but I'd like to say to just stay away from the needle. Once you go down that route, your chances of things getting out of control, and of having a serious risk of OD go sky high. Stick to the much safer routes, using needles tends to put someone on their way down a very dark road :(
 
lol dude i think i obviously know the risks of using IV as a route for opiates. I was addicted to heroin for years and years, probably while you were a fish swimmin around in your daddys left nut. i know plenty about heroin, needles, and all of that bs. i have OD'd several times, and died 6 times. ive been pushed into the gutter in the middle of the hood at 3 am. ive had guns put to my head, and knifes to my throat. ive been shot at, and grazed in the leg. so again, needless to say- i know all about needles, and where that path will take me (again). thats also why i havent touched heroin, or a needle for ~3 years. read some of my other posts, before you try to tell me anything about needles :) not trying to be a dick if thats how i came off just now, but there is no need to tell me about needles- i already know. i have been down that dark road several times, and i am on this website (harm reduction website), to inform people the risks of using heroin, mostly with a needle, and where it will take them in life. i tell people what ive seen, what ive done and been through. you can ask several people on here what i do mostly on here, and its inform people of the use of needles, and how it will destroy your life.. i know your just trying to help, but please do some searching on this forum

(sorry to sound like a dick, really- but today is the FIRST day ive gone through without ONE cigarette. it fucking sucks.)
