I said before that when i occasionally take methadone to prevent WD's like for 1 day i can still use opiates later that day and feel it more.... is this just because methadone doesn't block the opiates until it fully builds up in ur system??

As in for me Methadone enhances my other opiates when taken for 1 day vs. multiple days...... Im guessing its becasue it has no true blocker in it... only after time does the methadone itself bind enough to block other opiates?

I dont like Methadone because it screws with my tolerance. I will never take it again unless its needed to ween off of another drug.

it enhances? thats weird.

After 30mgs, you cannot really get a buzz. Granted if you're in pain the only things I have found to relieve it are an opiate or opioid for obvious reasons. You shouldn't be mixin the 2 its wildly stupid whenever you get off methadone youll wd's are going to be 5 times as shitty. Trust me it sucks and no matter how much other opioid/opiates into your body to mask it, nothing will ever cover up a methadone w/d besides Methadone Tapers, just be careful is what I'm getting at its no fun puking.

No, it's likely because you're on a low dose? Am I right?

Methadone isn't exactly a complete opiate blocker.. Methadone basically raises your tolerance up so high to opioids, that obtaining a worthwhile buzz while on methadone maintenance is very difficult, and very dangerous. Due to its long half life, it builds up and your body stays at a constant level of methadone.

In comparison, suboxone (buperenorphine) is more so of an opiate receptor blocker. The binding affinity of bupe is much higher than most opioids so if you are taking suboxone and then try and get high on other opiates, the other opiates won't eevn be able to bind to your receptors very well, unless your daily suboxone dose is very small.

Isn't it around 60-70 mg that the methadone starts to have somewhat of a blocking effect?
