opiates make my ears bleed?

hey all,

Haven't used opiates in a while, but have started again just recently...

After using, I always feel like my ears are suddenly full of wax or something weird - and it's always just after using - first question: (as petty as it seems)
- does anyone else experience this?

So I go to clean my ears out and they are actually bleeding? This freaks me out - it's never happened before? and I clean my ears out regularly anyway and have never had this + recently when using, I have never felt so high before either.

Has this happened to anyone? I only have a really basic understanding of how using opiates affects my body, and I didn't expect this, if the 2 are infact related - and I can't really come to any other conclusion, other than that they are.

I want to know above all, is this serious?

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time out to give me some useful feedback

Cheers,

Coopie

I have never heard of anything like this. I really doubt that this is connected to your opiate use. You should google bleeding ear

I can't think of a physical reason that opiates would cause this. Perhaps you get a histamine reaction that makes you notice your clogged ears more, so you only really think to clean out your ears while high.

Or maybe your q-tip technique is a bit violent?

It doesn't really sound too serious, but you may want to mention it to a doctor. I'd probably leave out the part about it happening when you're high though.

let a doc check it. he`ll also be able to clean your ears without harm...and it feels (and sounds) great to have medically cleaned ears.

Opioids increase pressure in the inner ear which accounts for the sensation you described. You likely pushed the q-tip too far in your ear and somehow caused a scratch. It is probably innocuous, but never the less I would recommend having a doctor look at it just to be safe.

1) any blood coming from the ears warrants a trip to the doctor.

2) don t clean your ears when you are high.

haha - thanks everyone - good point onmyway and interesting info dokomo. I'll check it out with the Doc and my doc knows I use so maybe he'll will shed some light - just so hard to get into see him.

thanks again!

I doubt the two are combined my ears have bled before when i have been cleaning them maybe you have a small scratch or lesion in your ear.Anyway best bet is ti see the doc
