Although i have a very slim experience with opiates (T3's and Hydrocodone). I never seemed to get anything out of them, no euphoria or happiness or anything all i get is nausea and discomfort. Basically everytime i tried to use them recreationally i throw up, even after getting the APAP out of them through a CWE. So the last time i tried it i took 20mg of Hydrocodone and decided i would take some prochlorperazine with it to ease the nausea, and even though this time i didnt get as nauseous i still didnt even get a buzz or anything. So simply put is there something wrong with me or am i just expecting something thats not there?

You didnt dose high enough for one. Two, the amount of euphoria one gets from opiates is HIGHLY variable ranging from mild mood improvement to sedation and anxiety relief to intense
orgasmic rushes. The people who experience the latter are the ones who get very addicted.

You increase your chances of good euphoria by taking the more potent opiates like oxycodone or heroin, dosing higher, and by snorting or injecting or a combination. Generally the more risk you
take the higher your chances of feeling really good, which is why people OD and die alot. I dont advise getting into it.

I wasn't planning on getting into really i was just curious about it because i just got my wisdom teeth taken out and have a script for norcos on the way and wanted to be able to utilize them recreationally just once. Also i thought 20mg would atleast get someone like me, with very little to no tolerance, buzzing atleast.

I was the same way as you 10 years ago so I stopped doing them. 10 years later & I can do them & not get sick anymore. WHat changed in those 10 years? I dont know but now I can take hydrocodone prescribed for my back pain & they work great!

Two things: 1) you could have a natural high tolerance but I doubt it since you are getting sick. 2) for some reason opiates dont agree with you as of now.

20mg is not enough for some people even not tolerant, you probably need closer to 30mg.

If you are getting nauseous, try taking less - 10 to 15mg of hydrocodone. Find somewhere to recline and relax with music going. Have a light meal. If you still don't feel anything try increasing your dose or adding in a sedating antihistamine again.

Don't increase your dose if you are at a level where nausea sets in. Overdoses are not pleasant.

Is the nausea consistent throughout? That in itself is a buzz kill for sure.

Ultimately your gonna have to experiment a little bit to find a dose thats right for you. I took 30mg hydrocodone my first time without a tolerance and all i can remember is walking around with the hugest grin on my face. Seemed pretty mild to me though.

Also are you being somewhat active? Nausea caused by opiates often diminishes mostly-completely just by laying down.

Option:

1) Have some DPH before dosing, it can help.
2) Try more effective opiates like oxy or H (hydro was always pretty iffy for me). I wouldn't recommend this, it's a great way to end up in a bad place.
3) Opiates may simply not be for you, plenty of people don't care for them. Maybe some other classes of drugs are more your style.
4) Wait. Try some opiates (even hydro or whatever) again at a later point in your life, maybe you'll be in the right place to enjoy them then.

How are you taking them? You didn't say. Cause 20mg oraly hydro is nothing imho. When I first started opiates I must have started at about 200mg morphine and still it wasn't as strong as I'd like.
For oxies nothing under about 60mg seems to do much for me although I tend to not raise my doses a lot either. 20mg hydro would be like bleh.

Some people just don't enjoy certain classes of drugs. I've talked to a hand full of people who really don't like opiates, and that really surprised me at first. When you look at how some responded physically and mentally to them, you can start to understand that they really just plainly don't enjoy them. Sure sometimes it takes looking into a different drug in the same class. For some it takes time for their body to get used to it, or a safe combination of drugs to eliminate the side effects. Though, really, be glad you can't get enjoyment out of a potentially destructive class of drugs. If you can't find the enjoyment and still want to use drugs recreationally, find one that works for you, particularly in a safe/harm reductive manner.

Oh my, 200mgs of Morphine would have definitely killed me my first time. Exactly 1 year later & 200mgs of Morphine is still way too much for me. Amazing how everyones body works so differently.

I have a friend who swears he feels nothing from opiates. Not just low doses, this guy has no tolerance and has tried insufflated doses of >20mg Oxycodone and still said he didn't feel it. I would love to know if there is an explanation for this. I dunno if I consider him lucky or unlucky.

Yes, ive heard of this happening to people. I cant give an explanation to why this is. It can be maybe that they have a huge natural tolerance or something freakish is going on. Like you've stated, its being lucky in disguise unless you need it when you're in pain & it doesnt help. Even if you cant get high, opiates still should mask the pain.

This thread wasn't really appropriate for OD from the beginning and given the bad advice (suggesting heroin or oxy... really?) throughout, I'm going to close this.

I've seen lots of people disappointed with opioids because they were used to other drugs like pot or psychedelics and didn't get the type of effects they sought. Beyond this, all we can do is speculate and given that we are trying to promote harm reduction, telling you to take doses BEYOND what are already making you vomit is horrible advice.

We are here to help people stay safe, not to help you abuse medications you were prescribed. Please check out the guidelines and standards in my signature and PM me if you have any questions.
