Opiates: do you prefer nodding off or staying busy while high?

I mean, I love the nod, but when you realize you've been sitting on your couch nearly asleep for two hours, it seems like a waste of the high, almost. Except when I'm not nodding, I just sit there, not really knowing or wanting to do anything else.
 
i like doing it at school it makes the day go by so fast and fun its such fucking ownage. but only way i would consider wasting drugs is if you take them and then go to sleep. like smoke a bowl and fall asleep like wtf is that shit
 
I don't see the appeal of the nod. I like enjoying the high but remaining functional. If you nod for a long period of time, it's like you "slept through" the high.

Same here, unless the opiate is combined with a bit of benzo or marijuana.

Some of my friends (with similar tolerances to mine and who do similar doses) nod CONSTANTLY while high. This has caused some awkward social situations. One that was particularly amusing was when both of my friends (I was not there at the time) nodded at the exact same time at a restaurant. The waitress came over to the table to take their order (while they were both mid-nod) and thought they were fucking with her. They both woke up startled and began making excuses. :)

Usually I like to chill and listen to music, but just today I felt so sick that all I could do was lie down and nod. It felt great, but then I looked at the clock and 2 hours had passed 8)

I'm only ever a minor opiate/oid user,
but I consider the semi-nod
(ya know... in & out the 'phasin' )
to be the greatest part of the experience...
