So I'm on 2.5mg of sub a day which 9/10 times I take in the morning (around now actually, ~9am). Normally when I wake up and its worn off, I am able to go to the bathroom. Usually ~1x/day (sometimes a day will pass but no biggie, 99/100 times its in the morning like clockwork). Well, tomorrow will have been 7 days since I last went. I have not done anything drastically different: been taking my vitamins, supplements, eating healthy, going to the gym, drinking OD water, just as i have been the past few months. Nothing has changed as far as I know. Same dose i've been at for a few weeks (doing a very very slow taper), same diet, etc.

So why the FUCK has it almost been 7 days since I last dropped the kids off at the pool? I couldn't even take my suboxone yesterday because I was worried it would just make the problem a million times worse. Well, its a new day and I still have yet to go!

I have taken laxatives, stool softeners, fiber bars, prune juice (drinking a can right now).

What is next? An enema?

At what point does it stop being constipation and start being something I need to see the doctor about? Should I wait for tomorrow, which is day 7?

Also just wanted to mention: when I last went, last sunday, it was diahrrea. I had eaten something bad the night before and woke up PUKING MY BRAINS OUT! Later that day i crapped my brains out. I figured I just got food poisoning or something (I had eaten a burrito from a ghetto food cart in NYC). possibly related in any way, shape, or form?

Sorry if this post is TMI but i'm starting to get pretty concerned.

If you start having abd cramping or pain go get checked out immediately.

Try a enema. Hold it in as long as you can. Have your butt up in the air on your Knees do the fluid can go down your Colon. Hold it hold it hold it.

When you feel like your about to go... Go.

This can take 1-10 min.

It really depends.
Also if you don't have any success you can try it up to 3 times in a day. More than that you can have electrolyte imbalances.

Since you cleared your system out last Sunday pretty good, that might be why you haven't gone. If you don't eat a lot you go less. So if your diet has changed since Sunday due to food poisoning that could be it.

Drink cold cold water. It's irritating on the bowls and will help you go too. You will feel some cramping.

Drink a lot of water because the suboxone and other opiates extract the water from the stool in the intestines. So drink a lot of water it will help.

Organic coffee is an excently tool to combat constipation, but if your prone to anxiety stay awaysz.. if are a tobacco consumer that helps shitting for me too.

Another important tool to combat constipation is to get physical exercise every day.

Flax oil and fiber helps tremendously for me. I used to sht once a week on opiates and now that I am on sub I still get constipation, but with the help of all the suggestionns I told you, I shot everyday and sometimes twice a day and they are usually normal shits, none of that rabid pellet bullshit uahahah

I live by Ducolax stool softeners! They really do the trick and I'm surprised you weren't helped by them. You need to take one or two in the morning and if nothing come afternoon, one or two more. Continue until the gates open up. Good Luck and be careful, this could get serious.

Let yourself go into withdrawal. You should have the opposite problem then. Seriously, I have read some horror stories about opiate constipation but to me it seems like there is a simple solution. When I am tapering off heroin, I have to use the bathroom all the time even though I am still on (wharteverm dose, usually a large dose for a normal person) every day. So you can take opates every day and have plenty of bowel movements, you just need to take less than whatever your tolerance level is.

Yes, times like these call for an enema. If you've never used one before, you're in for an experience. It should work still for you, and just try and stay calm because the first time you do it might be a bit confusing. The advantage of an enema over a stool softener is that the enema will really hit everything up in there with lube, not just one side of it.

If the enema fails, then you probably should call a doctor. There are oral medications that can be taken that are A LOT stronger than anything over-the-counter, and will help lubricate, break things up into smaller pieces, etc.

This type of thing can get very serious, and I honestly don't know what the heck happened to people back before modern medicine. The good news is that when it finally happens, you'll get some rebound euphoria! :)

I know you said you've tried laxatives, but did that include Milk of Magnesia ? I find 45 ml of that stuff at night is very effective. Guarenteed to get things moving comfortably the next morning. Much more effective than anything else i have tried - Senekot etc....

Now this is thinking "outside the box".
An excellent idea and it makes perfect sense for the OP's situation.
Nice one!!

Believe it or not I tried this. Did nothing at all do my bowels. which is extremely surprising because usually they are VERY SENSITIVE to changes in my dosage. Whenever I drop down another bit it's almost a guarantee I have some diarrhea

I also have been exercising A lot the past few months. Drastically changes my lifestyle as I've cleaned up.

I drink a good amount of water.

I true citrate of magnesium (one of 3 things the doc recommended): it made me violently ill.

Anyway I went to the doc because it really started hurting: badly. She gave me an X-ray checked me out. Said my bowel was not obstructed but that I had about a week worth of crap up there (puny).

The stuff worked, but honestly enough. I can feel a LOT MORE still and I still cannot push it out. Physically unable to. Guess I get to go round 2 with it...

I just want this over. THe past 2 days I haven't eaten much and I've lost a pound. Im incredibly weak: usually im at the gym 1.5 hours and bike 4 miles; today i didnt even have te strength to walk the 0.5 miles to the store to get the stuff i needed. I've been working VERY Hard the past few months to gain weight so it's like 5 steps backwards to say the least.

Thanks for input everyone.
