Opioids Opiates and Puking

Quick Question: My girlfreind has been snorting and now IVing oxycodone for a few weeks now, she gets minor withdrawals but nothing too bad. A "rinse" or residue shot off one of my spent shoots is enough to get her high, she doesnt like to do more than a half a pill to a pill a shot, maybe twice a day. My question is, even when she does a half and especially when she does more, she pukes all night. She just shot a half and shes already puking everytime she takes a drink of water or anything. She cant control it she just pukes all night. Is there anyway to stop this? Shes been shootin for weeks now. Any advice?

You vomit because you did too much. My general rule of thumb is never to inject more than half of what you snort.

I'm going to assume you know injecting pills is absolutely retarded if not done with micron filters and even more retarded than that if you're injecting oxycodone pills with acetaminophen in them. I would strongly suggest you explain to your girlfriend that it's not too late to stop using on a daily basis. From someone who's been there, it's not worth getting addicted to opiates. If she's vomiting from a low dose that means it's not too late to fix it.

Some people are just sensitive to opioids in this way, the body reacts to them as if they're a poison and causes vomiting. The symptoms can be mitigated by anti-emetics, but be aware that many of them are strong anti-histamines that will potentiate the opioids, so a lower dose will be needed.

And as the above poster says, if you care anything about her, you should really research micron filtering on these forums and encourage her to do it. IV'ing is so, so damaging and much of this can be avoided with some simple micron filters.

i used to puke when i first started opiates.. mostly when i would smoke a cigarette. im not sure why but it seemed smoking would trigger it every time. but it wasn't a sick feeling, it was just i would puke and then i would continue what i was doing. anyone else think smoking increases the chance of puking on opiates?

Yup, definitely. I don't know whether it's to do with the increase of Dopamine caused by Nicotine or the slight MOAI properties they have.

Sometimes if I take even a "4 day break" I'll puke after the tiniest bit.

I used to and sometimes still do puke right after I get super high. Then i get the nods. I think its pretty normal

Taking benadryl or promethazine beforehand should stop the nausea. Also I've had some success using Reglan, I forget the generic name for it though.

She might not be doing too much like some people have suggested, I used to get pretty nauseous doing opiates even if I'd only be mildly buzzed. Some people are more susceptible to it than others, and sometimes that regular nausea just goes away with time.

i think the generic name for reglan is metoclopramide (sp?) i had a script for it a while ago.

this happens to a lot of people. it can subside when your tolerance increses though. this use to happen to a friend of mine back in the day. he use to get sick of T3s, now he takes H shots like a champ.

oh... but my real advice is.... dont shoot painkillers! that shit ruins lives

I always thought shooting oxy is pointless. As the BA for oral is upper 90% already. (I suppose theres a rush or something from IV oxy?)

yeah you can get a decent rush off shooting oxy's. generally anyone shooting drugs is shooting it for the rush.

It seems to me that if I feel the slightest bit nauseous (at any time, not just on opiates or any other drug) that smoking a cigarette or even taking a few drags from one causes me to vomit. I don't know the scientific explanation, but I've seen this reaction in many people when it comes to nausea and cigarettes.

Well, a symptom of Nicotine poisoning is nausea. Opiates cause nausea in larger doses.
That's all there is to it in a basic way so that's we need to know

Lol, I used to puke also after banging a pack and lighting up a cigarette. Smoking seemed to trigger the "throw-up effect." Haven't had that problem though since I quit smoking. (Dont ask me how one quits smoking but continus to use heroin... I have no friggin' idea 8)) In the past, it seemed like the nausea thing let up after about 6 months of pretty regular opiate use...

Right now, I go on and off w/ the opiates so I don't have much of a tolerance (and I'd like to keep it that way ) I puke on occasion... and there is definitely a correlation between how much I do and how much/how often I puke.

FYI... got some really good stuff yesterday, and puked within seconds of bangin. Ha ha... a hallmark of a good rush. Lol.

Cigs deff. make me nauseous, I've gotten the gag reflex after blowing a Roxy and smoking, ESPECIALLY when its menthol. Puking usually only happens (for me) when I do a lil too much or eat way too much too quickly on 'em. Oh well

My guess is that cigarettes cause nausea due to the cholinergic properties of nicotine. Other cholinergics like muscarine are also known to cause nausea.

via a genuine mistake and many many years ago a French opiate naive friend snorted approx 2.5mg Subutex - he was lucky, found the next morning in a vainglorious attempt of getting to his room, face down inhis own puke, the dry wretching (at 5 min intervals) went on for a sttuborn 24-36 hrs.

Many lessons to be learnt, don't advise the opiate naive, and opiates are powerful drugs that can send you on a 24 puke-fest (particularly the new breed like subutex)

All in a day's work for opiate users vomiting is just something some experience sporadically or literally every time. Personally I find vomiting while high to be somewhat enjoyable which appears to be the consensus among my circle and BL'ers. As long as she is not vomiting at a pace at which she cannot properly rehydrate I'd say it's fine, just a little gross
