Opioids Opiates and Lasik

Hello, I'm new here and am not sure exactly where this belongs as there seems to be a crazy amount of different sections. But this seems like the right place.


Backstory:
Last week I had Lasik surgery to correct my vision. I was on suboxone for a couple of months after taking heroin multiple times daily for a couple of months, but prior to surgery I had quit the suboxone for 2 weeks and snorted some H a few times.

Now it is 9 days since my last line of H, and a few weeks since my last sub. I will not touch the subs again because getting through a month or two of withdrawals is already hard enough and that's that. However I would like to do this bag of H that I have.

My question is: Is it safe to take opiates of any kind after Lasik? Does anyone have experience with this? I know it changes your pupils size, will this mess with anything to do with the surgery? Keep in mind I am 1 week post op, and off the prescription eye drops and allowed to play not full contact sports once again. Does this mean it is okay to do the opiates? I have been smoking weed in moderation, but I am running out of that.

Yep...even as a nurse I wouldnt know but seeing as how your eyes naturally dilate back and forth as you pass through different levels of light anyways I would guess it wouldnt make a big difference.

I would be more concerned about you doing dope again and going down that road.

It should have no effect as LASIK surgery doesn't cut down to your iris or your pupil.
As previously said though this is a question for your surgeon, I'm not an optometrist so my statement has no real professional validity, just an educated guess

EDIT: I just remembered I used a half gram of heroin a week after my LASIK surgery at a festival, along with numerous psychedelics, marijuana, ketamine, and MDMA and the only downside was it dried my eyes out, but they healed fine, make sure to put your drops in every hour, more if it feels necessary

Yeah, I don't see how there could be any danger from using opiates after lasik.
