Opiates and irritability

The further I got into my opiate addiction the more common opiate rage was. I wasn't even getting high anymore, just angry and itchy
 
Some opiates seem to bring it out more, as do certain parts of the experience. But yes, I definitely do get it sometimes.

Any tricks people have to get over the rage? I try deep breathing if I can, or a dab, or a xanax/etizolam if I really need.
 
Lol I've gotten pissed at random shit when I was high off hydrocodone before but H? Hell no at least not for me, I'm wayyyy to opiated nodding off to give a fuck about anything in the world
 
Yeah I seem to be really irritable and hard to get along with when I take hydrocodone. But when I have Oxy I am the nicest, most agreeable person.
 
It depends on my high. Like some of you have said, if I'm blissed out and nodding, I'm good, friendly.
But, much more commonly I'm active, awake and functioning. It doesn't even have to be something that sets me off. I'm just generally an asshole to my regulars. The people I love and am around all the time. In particular my girlfriend.
It was a major, major part of my motivation to get mostly clean again. My woman told me flat out that, "When you're high, you are a complete asshole. Not always but a lot."
I didn't fully realize until I was told. Then it felt like that, along with all the other bullshit I was putting myself and her and our families through needed to stop.
Things are much better lately. When I do get high I'm just so fucking glad to be high and not having money concerns or whatever in the back of my mind, I stay good and friendly. No one knows a thing..... I think.
 
Opiates cause my l emotions in general to be stronger rather its lovy angry upset calm etc..

Shit can get on my nerves pretty easy when Im lit tho that's forsure.
 
Yep. Hit the nail on the head.
People can get super annoying when I'm high.. & I don't have a problem telling them to shut the fuck up.
Like this one kid who won't ever shut the fuck up.. I swear, it's like he plays 20 questions with me. Irritating as fuck.

For instance, if I am around someone who I already found to be overbearing it makes it ten times worse. There have been occasions where only one pestering acquaintance can irritate me so much (Let's say nonstop talking during Breaking Bad) to the point where my high is completely ruined and I actually become nauseous. Yeah, that's right. Opiate irritability can be so severe it actually makes me physically ill. I become more snappy and it ruins my mood.

Is there a scientific explanation for this?

I get major irritability when withdrawing. Major mood swings, crying, my psychological symptoms are AWFUL. I throw things n yell at whoever I'm around, it's awful. Opiates mess with my brain more than any other drug has, times a thousand. Hard core.
 
It's called dysphoria

It happens. As good as opiates are they sometimes make you feel the feeling you're trying to block out, even pain. When I'm on opiates forget it I'm enjoying it alone. If you fuck with my high I'm kicking you out nicely.
