Opiates and hand-eye coordination

It probably isn't in my best interests as a newbie to say this, but as a fellow opiate/opioid user and guitarist of 14 years...

Are you sure it doesn't just sound better to you?
I always would zone out on playing when i smoked weed and thought I played better, but I wonder if it was because i was just stoned.

P.S: I'm sure you're an awesome guitarist MB... just not as awesome as me.

Lol, I get more creative with the guitar when I'm on opioids or a psychedelic. With opioids I am able to play properly and coherently though, whereas on psychedelics whilst I can come up with some really cool shit (I like to compose songs), playing with other people while we're all tripping is kinda hard because they keep getting easily distracted; I've used a lot more psychedelics then my friends so I'm able to keep it together better then they are.

So no tripping during a concert until they have more experience with Lucy under their belt.

And Silverchair are pretty damn cool, I prefer their older stuff and have seen them in concert a few times at festivals. Always good. :D

I usually play slightly worse, as far as fretting chords and playing melodies everything is fine, perhaps even improved, but its hard for me to play in time when I'm high on opiates. Makes it almost impossible to sing and play.

Yeah now that I think about it, singing and playing is harder whilst I'm doped up but we tend to play lengthy psychedelic jams so not really a problem.

I couldn't imagine playing on acid or anything like that.
That shit makes me want to hide in the forest.

I love playing on opioids too though.

Yeah. I would agree that opiates make me play better. Have you ever heard of the band Failure? I used to love taking morphine and playing and singing their songs by myself. Dirty Blue Balloons

On a low-dose, maybe I can concentrate better or feel more focused or whatever.

But with high doses, I sometimes walk into doorways and/or bump into table ledges, etc. I wouldn't feel comfortable wielding an ax whilst high on opiates.

Actually i must add that at my most inebriated on opiates i can find myself bumping into things.

Perhaps there is a sort of sweet spot you can hit where you can have a little bit and function well, but then drop off in co-ordination when you start to become too sedated.

I sometimes walk out of my room into the corridor when it is dark, can't see anything and end up hitting my foot on something.

I think the smaller pupils don't lend themselves to seeing well in the dark.

I can definately run a lot farther on opiates. I can get into the zone and I don't feel any pain. Maybe your wood chopping experience is similar? It's not actually increasing your accuracy, but it's preventing something that would usually throw your accuracy off - pain. Whether the "pain" is actually aching pain or just the tediousness of lifting that axe, picking a spot, and swinging the axe, over and over. Maybe the opiates are just helping you get into the zone.
