Now heres my situation. I know opiates are a depressant that depress's your breathing but lately it has gotten kind of ridiculous for me.
Last night after using oxy about 9 hours ago(50mg) i noticed my body wasn't hardly breathing at all and i was noticing i was getting panicking and kind of light headed. I thought this was ridiculous because i wasnt high at all. NOw i have noticed this before a little bit and i just step outside and take a few deep breaths.
Now i am a pretty inshape guy but lately i havent been excersizing at all due to school and such. Is this a factor in what is going on with my respiratory system? If i exercise will my breathing be less depressed when i use opiates?
My other question is if this kind of condition can be fatal. I was totally scared to go to sleep last night because i figured i wasn"t going to wake up. If any of you could elaborate on this i would appreciate it. Thanks

I bet you will be fine. From most of your posts, I've gained the impression that you tend to be far more anxious than necessary. Your biggest problem is ANXIETY (which induces hypochondria in your case) -- not drug side effects.

Well first of all, it is common knowledge that opiates depress your breathing, and in high doses this can be fatal. Now I don't know what your tolerance is like, but in an untolerant person, 50mg can be a very large dose to handle. Have you done oxy at this dosage before? If you have and didn't notice the same problem, then I guess it COULD be attributed by your lack of excercising, although I doubt that is the case because it hasn't been that long since you excercised and it usually takes a while for breathing capacity to go down. My advice to you would be to dose lower or take a break for a while.
You also said you didn't get high, this is most likely just due to the fact you were panicking and that adrenaline kicked in which makes it very hard to notice the effects of a drug.

There is no likely connection between that 50mg, and the illusion of suffocation some 9 hours later.
The only drug I ever felt dangerous respiratory problems from is fentanyl, and that was 30 minutes after eating a patch.
Once with oxycontin I started salivating heavily, and began gagging/choking on the excessive saliva. But again, that was shortly after becoming high.

Fairnymph from the education i see your parents are paying I'm surprise at the lack of help in your post. I found it rather ridiculous that when my body first started to experience anxiety you sat there and acted like this "king bitch" about it. Acting like im below you because i havent spent as much computer time as you to figure out what shit is. Any person in the right mind that didnt know what anxiety completely was and started experiencing it would have every damn right to be worried. So if your going to continue being the snobby off the mood swing bitch, I would rather you not reply to my topics.
Anyway to answer the "respectable" others questions. Ive used oxy off and on the last year and a half. My tolerance at one point was blowing close to 200mg. At that time i had no breathing trouble at all. I recently began using again and these problems arised and thats why i brought the question up.

^^^^^first of all, i think that was one of the funniest things in the world, maybe i'm just high.
Secondly, in no way was Fairnypmh insulting you. She was merely making a neutral statement. I don't quit think you still know what anxiety really is:
Any person in the right mind that didnt know what anxiety completely was and started experiencing it would have every damn right to be worried.
Anxiety is basically worrying too much, being apt to worry about shit you probably shouldn't. She was just giving you a sensible, curt, answer. Now it seems like you should have a little more knowledge of oxycodone since your tolerance was incredibly high. And that if you didn't experience extreme respiratory depression at that dose, there's no reason you should at 50mg.
I can't really tell you what the cause is. But you seem to not be in a great place mentally at the moment, so this could also cause your fear. I don't know, i'm so stoned.

1) Don't direct posts at me specifically, thats called e-mail and if you email me with some question like this I would just delete it..
2) Don't flame anyone that gives you a reply..
3) If you'e having trouble breathing on opioids then TAKE LESS and SPACE IT OUT ..
