Anyone in here use opiates to get a great workout? ive used vicodin, tramadol and even pod tea to get the most of my workouts. what are your thoughts people?

Does it give you more energy, or does it just more or less kill the pain of heavier repetitions? I have never tried the combination, but I am very interested.

Could be dangerous, with the lower heart rate and breathing. I dont know though. I become extremely motivated and energetic when Im on certain (most) opiates, so I could see it helping.

Im not into working out, so I wouldnt know personally. Just take it slow, and dont work out as hard as you normally would.

it gives me great energy and really motivates me to workout on a daily basis.
ill take your advice on not overdoing it man thanx! I run 3 miles at 6miles per hour which is easy and lift weights the next day. i alternate throughout the week. problem is i cant go to the bathroom!

Just be careful with the dead lift, you might just have a falling out of sorts if you strain too hard.

i gotta get someone to spot me in the mix. im a courier for a clinic in the bay(northern cali) and the 1st week of the month we deliver supplies to the clincs. usually this is a dreadful week but now that i have a consistent hook up its nuthin to a boss!

Could be dangerous for the reasons 6/7 mentioned. Also, it may mask pain so you could end not noticing it and causing some serious harm.

I'd save the opiates for after the work out.

I agree phrozen. If you are taking opiates for pain, you could be masking an injurious activity. This is a constant concern for me for anything from mowing my lawn to launching my boat. I have injured myself and not found out about it until later.

I say this is the wrong way to go about getting your body a workout. Like any muscle group, the group you work out for that day will become fatigued and tired when they are well and lacerated, or, when you've cut them enough inside the gym that they fill with blood and become worn. I could see a point in smoking weed before a workout (thereby opening blood vessels for better blood flow to your muscles and thus a slower onset of fatigue), but numbing your pain receptors so that your muscles can't cry save me until it is too late, in my opinion, is just plain silly.

Read some about body composition, and conditioning before you try and take shortcuts to the frame you want. I have more times than not been in the weight room and come close to injury simply from being too tired (or hungover, or high, or fatigued, etc, etc...) to lift my normal weight (or even 80% for that matter). Tread lightly, free weights are not to be coupled with shortcuts (steroids are a cowardly exception).
Safe travels.

Yup. Also I find that an opiate buzz is that much better(no that it needs the help) after som sort of physical activity when you're spent.

I had a little opiate habit while i was trying to put on some wieght. I ended up tearing my right pectoral, didn't really feel it til 3 or 4 days after it happened. Its half a year later and its still not the same. I will never go to the gym on painkillers again.

Probably get flamed for posting my regimen before my workout the other day this week....On back and biceps day I took

80mgs Hydrocodone
60mgs dexedrine
3mgs clonazepam

--All of these were taking before i induldged in my plethora of pre-workout supplements...I think my heart rate was 165 while I was doing warmup cardio....

Safe? No.

Effective? Not really.

Using opiates and going to the gym is an awesome experience because of the pain relief and increased energy/motivation, but you put yourself in position for serious injury....

The main reason i try not to take opiates before the gym is because it lowers your testosterone....ALOT!!!! After doing it for a week, you'll notice a few setbacks...

Stick to caffeine and leave the opiates for when you're sore from an intense session!!

This is the main reason why you shouldn't take them before hitting the gym.

ive hit the gym under the influence of pain killers and while its nice to have that boost, i felt like i could do more reps and stuff. i still wanna feel the "burn" so i know how far im pushing myself. I would def say keep ur painkillers till after ur workout, it will be much more beneficial.

I was taking Hydro when I injured my back, well I was doing a workout to get strenght to get back to work. My last day I took a few extra, and ended up pulling my muscles again during my workout cause I thought I could do more.
Not a good Idea, save for after the workout

Iv noticed that after a shot Ill be amped to do like yard work, moaw the lawn, trim the trees whatever. But in doing this I whare through my opiate buzz much quicker than normal so Im trying not to do any thing after my dose for atleast a little while so I can enjoy my high more.

Back when I was using methadone heavily, I would often work out and be so sore that I could hardly move the next day. Not the usual soreness either from all the lactic acid, I could hardly walk for several days after doing squats.

Some pretty unsafe lifting practices here guys.

I've lifted on it all as well and I cannot think of an easier way to injure yourself. Lifting drunk is almost the equivalent. As for taking benzo's & opiates & amps and working out, do you want a heart attack or stroke?

I find a heavy dose of codeine (for me about 250-350 mgs) goes down great after a weight session or a long jog especially if I take it right before I jump in the shower.

Never tried opiates before a work out though. Something I've never really considered doing. I find physical exertion (like even walking to a friends house) diminished the buzz somewhat. I just like laying down in front of the telly or with some tunes going. I get more out of it that way.

fuck yeah i always like to shoot me up some a mg of fentanyl and fucking workout and run all day...seriously though how the fuck do you have motivation to do shit like that when you are nodding off?
