(Opiates) Abstained for 8 days, Dosed, and Now Back in Withdrawals Again, WTF???

If you managed to stay clear for 8 days and get past your withdrawals, why in the world would you take the risk of getting hooked again? Why not abstain for as long as possible / for ever? If I knew I didn't have to take my next Subutex dose, God knows I'd do my best not to.
 
Well, I don't want to risk it, which is why I'm asking how long I need to wait before re-dosing. I'm going to try waiting two weeks, and take it from there. Anybody "chipped" for a while? How long did it work out and what was your plan?
 
I think you should wait a month. I know how hard it is, I'm sorry I seemed a little ignorant in my previous post, but the truth is I actually know how hard it is. This may seem like a stupid advice, but the best way to get rid of an addiction is to start another one, and obviously that's not what you should do, but perhaps (if you really need to take drugs like many of us do) you should try and substitute the heroin / oxycodone or whatever kind of opioid it is you take with another substance that you aren't dependant on, like amphetamine or benzodiazepines. Since I started looking into benzos my interest in opiates (which were pretty dominant before) began fading a little, and I know I'm not in any way in a better position that the one I was in before, but at least my Subutex dose is reduced and I'm hoping to soon be able to kick that altogether. That's my plan anyways.
 
Altho at 1stagein my life i was able to control myself a little better than at others.One way i found was to delay using in the morning,limit the quantity,and yeah have drug free days.I agree hold off on the molly it's bad shit and a billion times harder to stop.Three weeks is apparently the amount of time it takes to get a habit and usually,with smack anyway,the amount of time to turn the corner but yeah not using is a must if you dont want to reactivate for at least a month or two.After 20 years of using i've found no rhyme or reason to it,one thing i do know tho is your brain holds the key start changing that and the rest will follow.Easier said than done but it is possible,so i'm told any way!
 
Yeah, my divorce didn't help anything. We had a mutual support thing going...she was hooked on benzos, she really didn't care too much for opiates, but she supported me about my opiate habit, and I supported her about her benzo habit.

I have led a productive life on heroin and opium (and morphine, and oxy and hydro, and tramadol, and yadda yadda yadda). I just need to dig deep and try to push forward. I will try and update you with everything. I really want to try and get clean without subbing out another drug in it's place. I would rather not trade an opiate habit for an amphetamine or cocaine or benzo or even a weed habit (not the biggest fan of weed).
 
I wish you the best of luck in trying to get clean. I really do. If you do actually manage to do it without trading one addiction for another, then you are 1 in <insert large number here> because I think you and I both know that when sober, it is oh so fucking hard to go about our day without thinking of "just one more hit."

P.S. I never liked weed much either.

Reading this thread makes me very nervous...I've been "chipping" for about a month now...using heroin, oxy, and suboxone. I've been addicted before and gone through withdrawals but this is my first binge in about a year, so I figured I could get through a month of using and not experience any real withdrawals, but this thread is making me nervous now...
I've been doing only subs for the past 9 or 10 days...using one 8mg pill, so about .3-.5 mg/day...I figure this low of a dose isn't big enough to produce a bad WD...well, hopefully.
 
If your going to stay away from ANY sort of drug for 8 days, then why go back to them? Of course your going to rekindle those withdrawal's. The point in going days without a drug is to either A. Lower tolerance, or B.Quit altogether.

What I'm saying is... If your going to go 8 days without drugs, you might as well quit altogether for the better, or perhaps stay away from drugs for atleast a couple more weeks that way you can really lower your tolerance.

Good luck on your chip. I was in pretty much full blown (but less severe) withdrawals after chipping for 6 months. Everyone says it can't work but I think you can make it work....for a while. I think addiction will creep up on you eventually, whether 2 months or 2 years.
 
Alright...I little update: I waited two weeks (well 13 days to be exact) and I dosed an oxycodone (OP 20), and 10 mg hydrocodone and I got SOOOO HIIIGH and it lasted all day long pretty much! I was itching like a motha fucker!!!!

It's been pretty much 48 hours since the effects wore off, and I don't feel achy or lethargic or anything like that. I have noticed that my nose is itchy and I have sneezed occasionally, maybe slight watery eyes.


My question is are these itchy nose/watery eyes a sign of very slight withdrawals, or is that a natural response after opiates. I guess what I'm asking if you gave that dose to someone who has never had opiates before, would they still get the itchy nose, watery eyes, and the occasional sneezing?
 
Methadone WD's are the worst of all (doctors say not so if you never go over 30 mg's a day)
I had bad WD's from taking 40 mg's for 3 weeks... I did not get adequate pain releif until I stabled out at 60 mg's, there are people that dose at 400-500 mg's at the liquid clinics -scares the F out of me. After 6 months of dosing at 60 mg's I could not function until I dosed (same problem alot of people have -
with H, Oxy's Hydro's') etc... But IMO methadone is the beginning of a long dark road. I'm lucky I had access to 24 mg's of Dilaudid per day to quit that shit.

I am going through a certain degree of WD for the past few days.

What makes me even more upset is that last week I used loperamide to stave of the WD. but it turns out that the WD from that seems worse than from the hydro. Whats worse is that when I took about 30mgs of hydro on Sunday, (last lope dose was on Friday morning, with a few mgs of codeine on Sat.) the 30mgs didn't do anything, no euphoria, nothing. I have read here that Lope is similar to fentanyl* so I'm attributing the "worse" wd symptoms to the lope. I just hope by Friday the tolerance has worn down do I can enjoy the hydro when I get it.

Got kinda off track there :)

Anyway, going through the WD's from Hydro last for a little over a week or so, then into the second week I always start feeling like myself again and I wonder why I always go back to taking the hydro..... habit I guess. Again, the wonderful world of opiates!!!!!

Ive chipped for about 6 months. I use every third day. I have noticed that sometimes a day or so before I use again, I experience some restlessness and my body seems to have a more difficult time regulating its temperature. Meaning that, when it's too hot out I seem to feel hot more easily and sweat a lot and I am more sensitive to cold as well.

But these effects are minor and they are worth the relief I get from being able to use every three days.

About withdrawals...I'm wondering if this histamine like symptoms are due to a very slight withdrawal or if it just has something to with the extreme histamine release that opiates release...

Can anybody with little are no opiate experience let me know if you get watery eyes, itchy nose (like allergies) a few days after you take the opiate, or no?
 
I get no watery eyes or itchy nose, not even when I'm in "withdrawal". Using every three days the ONLY withdrawal symptoms I seem to get are the trouble adapting to temperatures and restlessness.

I've experienced these sort of things as well for a long time now. I really don't know what to make of them. For example, I'm currently on methadone and I've been taking the same dose for almost 8 months and I dose at approximately the same time each day and I've never missed a dose. Yet, I still have days where I wake up and my muscles are aching like I'm in withdrawal. Some days I'll wake up and feel OK but later on during the day (after dosing) I get the aches again. It's incredibly frustrating. No amount of tylenol or advil seems to help. Aspirin works some of the time. I'm begun to wonder if I'm suffering from fibtromyalgia. Anyone else (preferrably on methadone or stable chronic dosages of another opiate/opioid) experiencing something similar?

I dunno man, but I think it could be a tolerance issue. It also may have something to do with food/supplements, like eating a certain food at a certain time prevents some of the 'done to absorb in your system.

I know itching is something an opiate naive person experiences on high doses. I'm naive (I just went through moderate withdrawals) at this point, as a 30mg Oxy+hydro dose knocked my socks off!!! My pupils were TINY!!! I mean like what I've experienced on H/morphine/opium. I was itching like crazy.

I'm wondering if I take a benedryl/zyrtec/allegra or something that will lower my itchiness during the experience and reduce my allergy-like symptoms for the few days afterwards. Do you think this will help? When I was addicted to morphine for 4.5 years I never had issues with itchiness (except maybe when I decided to really up my dose).

I'm back to work now at a new job, so I'm only going to dose on the weekends now (for now, lol). There's no imbetween point for me now. If I go back into moderate withdrawals 3, 6, 12, or whatever months from now, I'm going to keep up with the doses. I can't go to work sick and feeling like shit, and I won't be able to take a week off to deal with withdrawals.

So will an allergy pill help with me you think?
