So anyone know any tips to help ease the aches or anything from the opiate w|d .. Benzos . nicotine.. Gabapentin ... ? Anyone know if ithelps

it would help to know which opiate you are referring to, your daily dosage peak, and how long you have been at that dosage. also which withdrawal symptoms bother you the most?

for the most part anything that will help you get sleep is going to be your best friend. gabapentin does help, but lyrica is more potent and will actually help the symptoms subside once you get past the sedation. benzos of course are going to help with sleep, but be careful to not replace your opiate addiction with a benzo addiction.

Mainly any ope could get a hand on ... High tolerance hydro . oxy ..70-90 mg.. Methadone 100mg..about 6 months

if you have enough to taper down with i would do that first, cut out 5-10mg from your daily intake every other day, all the way down to 0. once you get there you should set aside at least a week to recover. you can also use subs to taper with if you are out.

I tapered down over 1.5 weeks ( really that was hardest part - having and not taking them ) - jumped on a Friday , went nothing on sat. ( started taking 1000 mg vit. C ) and Sunday started gabapentin
If your mind is actually ready to quit , you can taper - and if you can taper , it's amazing how well the GABA will help - after 3-4 days I felt better than I had in years - some caffeine ( early afternoon espresso ) helps the little bit of drowsy the GABA gives ( for work ) , and one right before bedtime helps get in that well needed sleep .
( I used 4-5x 300mg. Gabapentin , and 1st few nights a 10mg Valium to help sleep )
This after 80-90 mg / day for 5.5 yrs. -
Be sure to taper off the GABA if you take it for weeks + .......

Benzo's(xanax in particular) have definitely helped through my opiate w/d's, best combined with cannabis. Lots of cannabis alone can even help enough to get me through some w/d's.

Many bluelighters have reported that Gabapentin does ease w/d symptoms, and does so rather well(probably as much as benzos+cannabis would). I cup gives good advice for using Gabapentin for w/d, although if mixing it with benzo's be careful with the dosage and start low, see what works. I don't know for sure but they are both "downers" and could have negative effects(possibly lethal) when combined.

Nicotine doesn't help my withdrawals and I don't even like to smoke without opiates, makes me feel worse tbh.

I use oxycodone daily for pain with total of 60mg per day and I enjoy them recreationally too for twice a week and on those days I leave out the morning dose and do around 80-120mg orally and 20mg intranasally.

So I have some tolerance and quitting cold turkey after half a year of use would be quite awful.

However when I hit th threshold when I dont get any high from the 120mg PO + 20mg IN I start to lower my tolerence.

This is what works for me:
Day one
normal recreational dosage plus 75mg pregabalin (Lyrica, which is derivate from Neurontin) PO at morning and evening

Day two
10mg crushed Oxycontin PO with 30mg DXM and 75mg pregabalin at the morning.
30mg crushed Oxycontin PO with 90mg DXM and 150mg pregabalin at the evening

Day three
20mg oxycontin PO with two doses of 20mg DXM and 150mg pregabalin. 20mg oxycontin PO with 40mg DXM and 150mg pregabalin at evening.

Day four
10mg oxycontin PO with 20mg DXM and 150mg pregabalin
10mg oxycontin PO with 20mg DXM and 150mg pregabalin

Day five to day seven
No oxycodone. 200 to 300 mg pregabalin at morning and evening

Day eight to day fourteen
Lower the dose of pregabalin and start using using oxycodone again (or not, which would be the better solution)

Add some loperamide for diarrhea and inflammatory agents like paracetamol for pain.

This works for me and I don't get any withdrawal symptoms other than diarrhea. When I start again I can get to a land of nodding with 30 to 40mg crushed oxycodone.

Forgot to say that I am on day six at my tolerance lowering method and I have not yet encountered any withdrawal symptoms except slight diarrhea.

Using pregabalin to quit opiates seems like cheating and I guess gabapentin should work as well although amounts needed would be bigger.
