Opioids Opiate Tolerance vs. Opiate Withdrawal Symptoms

I have a question about opiate withdrawal as I am preparing myself for detox as soon as the doc gets my blood pressure under control. I am only scripted 10mg Vicodin a day (1 year) for a chronic rib subluxation. However, I occasionally dabble with much stronger opiates like OC (60mg) and H (few small lines of ECP) usually limiting my benders to 2-4 days. I then am able to usually go right back to my 10mg Vicodin without any WD issues. I obviously feel like I took an asipirin, but it keeps WDs away and I continue my normal dosage.

Sometimes I taper a day and do like 15-20mg or something, but only for a day or two as I notice my digestion significantly slows down. That is the only WD symptom I get other than fatigue and a little soreness. Now if I were to steer clear of the other substances for 2-3 weeks before my detox, what kind of WDs can I expect? Will they be just as if I was taking 10mg Vicodin or will they be worse given my twice a month dabble with stronger opiates? Please advise as I would like to be prepared for what is coming. Thanks.

They probably won't be too bad. You'll obviously be unfomfortable but you should be able to handle it. If 10mgs of Hydrocodone keeps you well my man count your blessings haha, that is a very manageable habit.

hahah i know. since my recent dabble with H, I have been waiting for it to not keep me well. I only use OC or H once or twice a month for a few days at a time. I just do not want to be dependent every day anymore and I need to know if the rib subluxation has fixed itself or the muscles around it have now supported it. I used to feel the pain through the tiny 10mg of Vicodin and now I do not so I think it might have healed on its own. If that is the case, I don't want to take it every day and just get back to recreational opiate usage if any at all. I detoxed off from OC and Opana before but only after 6 weeks of use and pretty much walked right off it by tapering and then using a Kratom taper and Immodium. I doubt it will be as easy this time, but I will try the same taper.

It's unlikely that taking stronger opiates and using like that only a couple times a month is enough to raise your overall tolerance. Chances are your detox will be whatever it is normally for you coming off that dosage of hydrocodone.

Nice. I mean the dope definitely has raised my tolerance for OC and my tolerance has obviously gone up in the past year even with occasional recreational use, but I was just wondering if WDs are more based on current dosage that is keeping you well when you jump off or overall tolerance. It seems so far the consensus is that if I gave it 2 weeks or so after my last recreational use before I taper off that WDs will basically be like being on 10mg of Vicodin for year.

My BP has been off the wall lately which is why I want to jump off along with not being dependent. I am convinced that I am close to not being able to use 10mg to be well soon and the rise in BP has to do with the fact that 10mg is barely keeping physical WD symptoms away. Not sure if this is possible but this fucker is trying to put me on like 3 BP meds which is making me lethargic as fuck. I'd rather jump off the Vicodin and start exercising and eating better than be on 3 fucking BP meds. I feel like and old motherfucker with all these meds...

You won't experience any heavy wd as long as you avoid the stronger opioids for a few weeks prior. At 10mg hydrocodone a day you might be slightly more on edge, anxious, maybe some chills and insomnia but it should be mild. I see two ways you could do this,

1. Drop dose to 5mg for 7 days then jump, or just jump off now to not prolong it. Find immodium, and if you can a benodiazepine.... but all in all you should be okay quick.

As the other says, with that "low" dose, the withdrawals shouldn't be too bad.

Drop the dose as fast as you csn untill you reach 0 mg. If you experience any discomfort after reaching 0 mg you can ask your doctor for a little dose of slow release tramadol each day (50-100 mg should do). This is a less potent opiat, but it can take some of the restlessness and depression. Furthermore it can help with restless leg syndrome if you experience this. Do these for some days or a week or hoe long it will tske before you dont feel any discomfort. If necessary you can ask for benzodiazepines too. But talk to your doctor about the risks concerning mixing tramadol with benzo.

I have used tramadol before with success after slowly lowering my dose of stronger opiats.
