Opiate question...Am I missing something

Personally, I find that opiates do NOTHING for me, and if anything, I dislike the "faded" and zoned-out feeling. If you are the type of person who really like strong stimulants like e and meth, then it it likely that opiates just aren't for you. Contrary to popular belief, opiates are not equivalent to "10, 000 orgasms". I'd say that if you are looking for REAL EUPHORIA, you'll find it much more with MDMA than with opiates.

Gotta disagree... I was the biggest speedfreak to walk the east coast - I eventually just got burned out with it, and I find this is the case with MOST PEOPLE that are into uppers ... all the former speedfreaks I know are no longer into it...
But I agree, real euphoria is a high dose of MDMA, and as you're comming down, boot up some good smack... it's not 10,000 orgasams, but it's a hell of a lot better then one!

Hey PhreeX I like your quote...made me smile..
Ok here is my opinion, which is to be taken lightly, so I can avoid confrontation. I think swallowing oxy is so pointless. I think if a person swallows this substance they 1) are uneducated about the drug, so are therefore unaware that it is time-released, and 2) if they are aware of the release being stopped with insufflating it, they are a pussy for not wanting to do it and need to need to experience what they are missing out on. Those who are getting sick, unless you really like the feeling just stop using the drug andsave yourself from some complaining and wondering why this strong opiate could possibly make you sick, I mean it's only a major side affect and all. Ok I'm done babbling.
Peace everyone, no hard feelings, I guess...

for me, the oxy or hydrocodone high is very subtle. I was looking for an easily identifiable feeling (like MDMA, or alcohol even), and didnt get it, so i because disappointed and frustrated with them.
I only ever took painkillers years ago because they were available. It was something to do when I couldn't get "real" drugs. Somewhere over time I came to realize that painkillers had a million more advantages and reasons for me to like them than any street bullshit. Simply put, opiates are an acquired taste.
I wish there was more research into opiates and depression. I think opiates would be very beneficial... anyway I am digressing. They are really euphoric and I do not get dull and lethargic on them. I become really happy and content.
I agree with the effects that you get, however long term use seems to provoke depression and the only means of curing it is to take more opiate. Impractical.
The same active drug is in percs as well as OC. Maybe the full 20 mgs was too strong for you. If you have another opportunity just do 10mgs, or half of a OC 20. That will be equivalent to two percs.
I know almost a dozen people who will tell you as far as oral doses, taking an equivellent amount of oxycodone in Percocet vs. OxyContin.. Percocet is a better high. The reason is unbeknownst.
you won't start noticing the true joys of oxy until you snort it or shoot it (correctly that is, with the extraction).
Crap. I started eating Percocet over 7 years ago. Anything other than oral ingestion is missing the true joys of oxycodone and instead substituting those joys with a cheap and short lived rush. There is more to oxycodone than a "nice high".

Crap. If you're looking for a longer experience and trying to remain functional, using the oxycodone to enhance whatever activity it is you're doing, it makes a lot more sense to eat it.
Snorting it only feels like it's giving you 75% of the mg amount anyways.

It's only a major side effect until your opiate cherry has been popped.

Yes, Soviet, thanks a million for analyzing every sentence of my feeble thoughts. You're right, and I am so wrong, if that's what you want to hear. Oh and I thank you for categorizing my opinion in some areas as "crap"... So much for listening and understanding others opinions.

Does "better high" mean the same high just more intense or something a little different?
Theories: I've heard that APAP isnt just a waste of space or something that prevents IV injections in pills that also contain opiates/opiods. There is some kinda worthwhile synergy between the two that actually enhances the effects. I dont know much about this...maybe someone else here does.
Or...the SR matrix of Oxycontin is never fully broken when the med is taken orally.
Also, imo, isufflated oxycontin is a waste. I've always loved IVed doses. Recently I've developed an appreciation for oral doses.
