Opiate Potentiation Question...

One of the main OTC medications that I come across for all opiates/oids, with the exception of codeine I believe, that Tagamet/ Cimetidine is one of the most talked about OTC opiate potentiaters.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but does it potentiate the opiate of choice by increasing the high - resulting in the nods more likely. Or does it do what I'm interpreting and that is that it mostly just blocks the receptor ( I don't remember the exact one ) that deals with prolonging the effects because it slows the enzyme from breaking it down in the liver as quickly.

Hopefully this makes sense, I'm a little faded right now. lol :|

Thanks in advance for anyones Info on whether it makes you more high, or if it just prolongs the effects of the drug. Either way I would consider it a potentiater, just maybe not exactly the type I targeting.

Thanks Again!

Since I highly doubt mixing an antacid with pain medicine is fatal, why don't you try it and get back to us?

I never noticed any difference when using tagamet, but I have used hydroxyzine, which is similer to benadryl (both are antihistamines), and that increased my sedation(more nodding off) but not my euphoria. Didn't notice any difference in the length of the effects though.
