Opiate Overdose

When one overdoses on an opiate, methadone specifically, how long would it take to know if you will be alright? If you start feeling the drug but feel fine is there any chance a few hours later that you won't be?
 
I remember reading somewhere that methadone peaks 4hrs after taking it but i could have dreamt that so dont take it as gospel! The effects off methadone definately last a long time. I think it can stay in your system for 36hrs but again,i could be wrong.

Well mainly I know i'll be alright I just started having some anxiety that turned into a mini panic attack so I just thought getting someone that is knowledgeable about this to write it out for me would calm me down. 72 hours ago I took 10 mgs of methadone and 48 hours ago I took 10mg more. About 1 hour ago I took 20mg.
 
I don't want people to think this is one of those 'help i just took way too much drugs i feel like I'm going to pass out/die/etc' that clueless kids write. It's just something to ease my mind during a time of anxiety. Trying to get my mind off it mainly.
 
I cant speak for methadone. Drink some coffee to stay awake, just try to stay awake. If your at the pass out mode I would seek medical help. sorry I cant help you out more. Hope everything is well. Keep us posted
 
I wouldn't take any more just to be on the safe side. I take methadone for heroin addiction but have never taken it having no tolerance to opiates so i cant really say how much is too much and i dont wanna say the wrong thing but i myself have never really found methadone recreational but as i say Ive only taken it with an opiate tolerance. I imagine it would be easy to take an amount and after 30mins think this is crap and take some more. I imagine its easy to overdose on coz even tho its not giving u a buzz it could still be affecting your CNS ect.
 
I don't plan on taking anymore heh. just trying to calm myself down and enjoy my high that should be coming soon. Damn anxiety always trying to ruin everything, lol.
 
Just to let u know as a person of many OD's and one pertaining to mass quanities of Mdone consumed, majority of the time u wont know u OD til u wake up in the ICU or hospital or if u dont wake up at all. When I OD'd i felt fine til like 35 min later i was found in the middle of the street blue and purple.
 
Do not dose again ! You'll be ok , wait at least twelve hours and preferably 24 between doses. With little tolerance, 20 mgs is probably enough for you to have an enjoyable high that lasts all day.
I've heard of lots of methadone overdoses from redosing before the first dose peaks but you sound like you're not doing that , relax and enjoy.
 
Well I was just talking to a friend and it's been almost 2 hours since I took it. Feeling fine, the normal itchies and warmness. No extra sedation or anything.
 
Watch out for the half-life of methadone (24-36 hours). I have made the mistake of 'keeping the feeling going' for a few days, and after the third or fourth day I'm wondering why my eyes keep rolling back in my head every 30 seconds...

Methadone is a strong opioid, and in recent years has shown a significant increase in overdose deaths. Keep that in mind. Stay safe.
 
48 hours would be more than enough time for redosing then, right? also thanks guys this is why I love bluelight everyone is always there to help. <3
 
Alright I'm fine. Better than fine haha. 20 mgs is definately my sweet spot for methadone. 10 was way too low but this 20 is pretty awesome. Thanks for calming my mind guys
 
Glad your ok and im also i bit jealous lol the only sweet spot i get with methadone is when i drink the sickly sweet,sticky,teeth rotting syrup they provide for us here in the uk. Tablets would be so much better!
